Incredible Fanfiction Ideas

Just saw Incredibles 2 and got some ideas. Decided to start a thread on it.

One of the ideas I had has to do with Tony, the boy Violet liked...

There will be spoilers. Putting this idea in tags, but afterwards... you've been warned.

In the movie, when Violet has her fit about being stuck looking after Jack-Jack she tosses off her mask and when he sees her he flees. This leads to her being erased from his memory and a lot of the connected shenanigans.

My idea is this. When he sees VIolet is a super rather than freaking out he mans up and says "I'll watch your brother. Go."

Because of this Violet is able to go help, and without the game of "catch a baby" between her and her brother, and for a moment their father, all four of them are able to concentrate on taking down the Underminer. In doing, they're able to take him down and while it was still destructive, they're able to get both the money and the criminal into custody giving them a stronger stance in the beginning of the movie.

It would also remove the "the boy I like doesn't remember me!" drama, maybe even end in him being brought into the fold as a supporting actor... and maybe even hilariously ending up a Badass normal hero eventually.

I've had ideas, but most of them were... stupid to say the least. However, given that Super Villains 'vanished' after Super Heroes got the hammer dropped on them, you wonder where the villains went. One idea had it basically all the visible super heroes got the hammer dropped on them while the low-key supers went after the villains at the behest of the various governments. That would be interesting Bond-esque material right there...

Also, an idea that I had was that Mr. Incredible lets it slip to Buddy before the big incident that caused the lawsuit-a-paluza that he worked alone because his last boy wonder died to get to Mr. Incredible (and that is why he got angry/frustrated when Buddy tried to be 'Incrediboy', the last one got Jason Todd'd)... and that was in one of the few times Mr. Incredible turned someone into paste. Well, the specifics of the incident were hushed up (because PR), but Mr. Incredible only teamed up with experienced supers that he personally knew after that incident. That would be an eye opener for Buddy. He would be sure of himself, but if someone that had worked with Mr. Incredible for some time as a sidekick and got killed for it... that would wreck one's positive assumptions... leading to Buddy not being sure enough to go with Mr. Incredible and cause the lawsuit cascade. Eventually, Buddy -who wants to help/assist Mr. Incredible somehow- decides that he should start by giving Mr. Incredible some rather useful gadgets...

"Look kid, I work alone. l or with heroes that I know. It's nothing to do with you, and I know kids can be tough. But I've done this before and regretted it. You see, you're not the first kid to try and by my sidekick."

"You had a side kick? What happened."

"He's dead."

"Oh."

"Yeah. Exactly. And look, you have a bright future ahead of you. Talk to me later. I'll give you some numbers. Get training, build a rep, get your own name. Start in the kiddie pool and learn to swim, then maybe when you have some experience you can jump into the Shark Tank with me, and we'll work together. But sign on with me now and you'll just be over your head. And I'm sure as hell not going to watch another kid die."

I like that idea, makes Tony be Violet's Jimmy Olsen type civilian who keeps things running whilst she supers.

Which'd tie into the message of the first movie- everyone is super. But not necessarily 'super' to be so.

I'd actually say it's better narratively to not give Tony powers, and be the flatscan human side of the 'family' he is becoming a part of.

Which then could contrast the screenslaver's thingy about people depending on supers- supers being saved by regular people... There's a nice symbollism there.

I agree. In fact he could actually be a very effective not-super-super after a while.

Give all the family communications gear and cameras in their masks and have him basically play a mission-control style support role.

Just imagine the end of 2 if Tony was able to zip around in the Incredicar and use its winch to help pull the liner off course.

"Wait a second..."

"Yes dad?"

"That's my car. Who's driving my car."

"That's Tony, dad."

"Your boyfriend is driving my car? Why is your boyfriend driving my car!?"

"Less talking dad, more saving!"

I looked at Buddy and frowned, this isn't the first time someone of my fan club tried to be Incrediboy (or the odd Incredigirl)... and it won't be the last. My only sidekick got killed because of me, just so the villain can get to me. So, I've kept to being a solo hero that only works with the experienced supers. Although... this kid is smart if he could manage to get into the Incrediblemobile, given the security on this thing.

"You're going to stay in the car," I ordered and I heard Buddy moan, "I know that you're my biggest fan but you're well over your head if you try to tag along with me." The kid complained even more, and I lost my cool just for a second. "I DON'T WANT YOU TO END UP LIKE SAMUEL!!!" That shut him up real quick.

"You had someone before me?" Buddy asked... before going to the obvious question, "What happened to him?" I mentally cursed at myself for letting that out.

"He was my partner," I answered as we drove to the next hot spot, "We started together in being superheroes. He was the closest thing to a brother I had in this business. I was Mr. Incredible, he was the Star Wonder... a perfect superhero duo..." That was when Buddy's eyes nearly popped out of their sockets.

"Wait a minute, the Star Wonder was your sidekick!?!" Buddy exclaimed, "I knew that you two were close but..." Buddy slumped into the seat. "... how did he die?"

"Painfully," I flatly answered, "Slowly, painfully just so The Devastator could get his kicks of inflicting pain on me." Buddy slumped even further into the seat. "In my business, people get killed even if they have superpowers. You're not ready to swim in the shark tank, kid. You're eager and smart, I can give you that, but that isn't going to stop some villain from killing you."

"... but I want to help!" Buddy replied, "Even if it isn't being your sidekick... I can help you with gadgets!" I raised an eyebrow at that. "Like I can make a pair of rocket boots in your size! Sure they'll be a bit rigid but this design can lift up to thrice your body weight!" Now it was my turn to have my eyeballs practically pop out of my sockets.

"... I can get you in touch with some people," I answered, "They'll get you started on getting into the superhero business... but after this joyride, you're going home. I don't want you to get caught in the crossfire..."

"I... I understand," Buddy complied, "... wait, isn't that Mr. Charleston at the top of the skyscraper we're heading towards?" I looked up and then, there was Gabriel Charleston at the precipice of the side of the skyscraper. "... I need to get up there."

"Are you suicidal?" I flatly asked, "It looks like he's going to jump!" Buddy chuckled a little.

"Mr. Charleston pointed me to you and told me that if I wanted to help then I must be like you and try to help others," Buddy answered with a combination of eagerness and confidence, "and besides, I've got my rocket boots if anything goes wrong." I was flabergasted, he already made a usable pair just to impress me?

"Just be careful then," I ordered, "and escort Mr. Charleston out of the building. Something about this doesn't feel right..."

"If that's the case," Buddy commented, "Then take these, they're sticky signal jammers. Press the button and they'll jam any remote explosive or radio and they'll stick to walls, furniture, and clothing." I chuckled a little, if I had these when I go up against Bomb Voyage I would get less soot and light burns... "They don't last more than five minutes though. I'm still trying to get them to work longer without increasing the size to something more noticeable. I would have brought more, but they're still undergoing testing..."

I was thinking of a more practical and suitable nickname: The Gadgeteer. Master of technology and the ultimate in crowd control (drones setting up a perimeter, for example). Known to be the bane of supervillains everywhere and has a bit of Batman in the preparedness department. Even perhaps have the island be a combination of testing grounds, training center, and base of operations. Probably becomes head of a major tech company as a 'civilian' cover.
