Since I'm having a little trouble finishing off the John C. Butler-class destroyer escorts, I decided to jump around and do some other nations' ships.
So here are the capital ships of Germany (including aircraft carriers) from the time of the start of the dreadnought revolution to the end of the Second World War.
Note that I make use of the commonly-used ship prefix KMS (Kriegsmarineschiff) for the vessels that sailed for Nazi Germany; in real life, Germany dropped all prefix titles for their ships after the end of the Great War. Remember that in my stories, all nations make use of a ship prefix or type prefix in their native language or in the operational language of their armed services, so I created RMS (Reichsmarineschiff) for the inter-war Reichsmarine ("Navy of the Realm") serving the Weimar Republic, KMS (Kriegsmarineschiff) for the Second World War Kreigsmarine ("War Navy") and DMS (Deutsches Marineschiff) for the post-war Deutsche Marine ("German Navy"); note that for the East German fleet, I use VMS (Volkesmarineschiff) for the Volkesmarine ("People's Navy") commanded by the DDR. Naturally, the ship prefix SMS ("Seiner Majestät Schiff", "His Majesty's Ship") is applied for the period of the Kaiserliche Marine ("Imperial Navy") prior to and during the Great War.
Please note that pennant superior letters in hull numbers as seen in the universe of my stories are also based on the native language of the navy in question, not the universal codes that came into play when NATO was formed. Thus, for Germany, since they didn't have frigates until AFTER World War Two, the pennant superior "F" could be used for Flugzeugträger ("Aircraft Carrier"). As always, capital ships in the European style would have no pennant superior letters to their hull numbers.
Again, please remember that any shipgirl's name marked with (*) means that the ship's name is my creation.
You all know the drill!
