You are Yuuji Kazami, Ace Number 9029, the 'janitor' of the underworld, the national asset of Japan, and the government's lapdog. Call yourself however you like, but essentially, you are a hitman, an assassin whose purpose is to purge the 'dirt' that may threaten the future and safety of Japan. You have been many things; a child, a brother, an orphan, a terrorist, a soldier, a student...

...a lover.

And now, a janitor.

When you look back at your own past, you cannot help but to wonder how all the misfortunes that had befallen upon you had yet to break you down completely to the point of suicide. When you think about it, death seems to be a much kinder option for you. You have been denied many things; family, love, childhood, sanity, free-will, life...

You wonder to yourself whether you deserve to live or not. Do you have any right to live like any normal person? Those people you had lost, all those things you had been deprived of, do you have any right to enjoy them all like other people should? Such thought leaves a bad, bitter taste in your mouth. No matter how much you try to think otherwise, the smell of gunpowder and blood never leave you. You are an aberrant, an anomaly among humans. After what you have gone through, you have no right to call yourself a normal human being anymore.

And yet, there is one desire in your heart, yearning for such a thing. You wish to seize all those that had been taken away from you. You know that you do not want to live this way forever, a leashed dog with no free will, despite acting for the sake of your nation you serve. This is one of your selfish wish, a wish that comes from your bleeding heart. For the sake of those you have lost, for the sake of things you are deprived of, you wish to give 'normal life' a try.

And then, there will be no regret.

In order to enjoy this so-called 'normal life', there is an acquaintance of your late master and your superior who agreed to watch over you as you live your life as a normal high-school student.

Ryoutaro Dojima, a Police Detective at Yasoinaba. Apparently, your late master and your superior knew him, and it seems that your superior entrusts him to be your guardian as you live your life as a normal student. And from your own research, you find out that Yasoinaba is a rural town, as some of your colleagues will call, a place out in the boonies.

And so, you go to Yasoinaba. Your superior has provided you a train ticket to reach the place, but due to your hatred to locomotives in general, you decide to walk on foot from Tokyo to Yasoinaba. Damn, you're a crazy son of a bitch.

Even so, thanks to your training and your body which is at its peak condition, you manage to reach Yasoinaba without problem, but the moment you step into the place, you end up being detained by the police and is brought into the station. The police start questioning you as you throw a glance at your heavy, 50-kilo backpack not too far from you.

Well, you know that this is their job as the police, but still, you don't like being questioned like that. You...

Yuuji Kazami

Also known as Ace Number 9029 and Janitor of the Underworld, Yuuji Kazami is a special agent employed by Ichigaya. Is considered to be the best among the 'cleaners', and a super-soldier thanks to the enhancement drugs that he took during his time as a terrorist. Tired with his life as a government's lapdog, he decides to give 'normal life' a try at Yasoinaba, under the surveillance of a Police Detective, Ryoutaro Dojima.

A Police Detective at Yasoinaba, Ryoutaro Dojima used to work in Ichigaya during his youth, and became acquainted with Ace Number 2029 at that time, Asako Kusakabe and the Case Officer of Ichigaya, Yuria Harudera. He agrees to watch over the current Ace Number 2029, Yuuji Kazami who wishes to give normal life a try. A widower with a young daughter named Nanako Dojima. Can be strict and authoritative, yet very caring and understanding.

He is a cheerful and jovial individual and often refers to himself as Dojima's slave, complaining about the workload that his partner piles on him. Before working as a Police Detective in Yasoinaba, he used to work in a special force back at Tokyo, but due to some reasons, he was reassigned into Yasoinaba. He may not show it often, but despite how usually he acts, he is surprisingly intelligent and has sharp intuition.
