That tends to happen in the vanilla Questing forum. No one notices a Quest, so it gets no interest. Seeing no interest, the OP abandons it. Later, people see that it's one of the top few threads, and post there without checking the timestamps. The cycle continues until a new thread is created and the thread is bumped out of the top few spots.

That's roughly why a quest will almost always be posted in NSFW even if the author has no intention of sex scenes. Quests in vanilla Questing just die.
