Shiro Tokita, the lead scientist behind the Jet Alone Project, finds himself adopting an OC orphan left behind in Second Impact, Kyle FitzEmpress, a young man with a natural aptitude for engineering and weapons design. Unknown to him, Kyle has a soul reborn from another universe - Ours'.
Fast-forward to Episode 9 (I only watched up to 5, but can watch more later on), and the Jet Alone project rampages all across its testing grounds. However, Kyle then debuts in a new Mecha, one which has an Electromagnetic Crossbow which pierces AT-Fields.
He then destroys the rampaging Jet Alone, then tells Shinji to put up the strongest AT Field he can so that he can test his weapon. Shinji does so, and sure enough, the Elec. Crossbow can pierce AT-Fields.
Kyle then manages to earn himself and JHCI a place alongside NERV in their deployments, and the opportunity to befriend Shinji, Asuka, and Rei and promptly introduce the three to the joys of Warhammer 40k, 9th Edition.

Pretty bare-bones, but can anyone help me with that idea?
