• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

I just suffered a mental breakdown, I'm not going to go into details but the fight started with my mother and I came very close to physically assaulting her, I think that everyone in my family needs some degree of therapy because since my parent's divorce we've all slowly become worse and worse people because we're not addressing our issues. This site is one of the few things that kept me together and I'm searching for advice from one of the biggest communities I associate with positively. Probably not the best source of knowledge but still.

To all of you out there, please give me advice, whether it be, moral, philosophic, or whatever else I'm looking for advice on what to do from here.

I have a lot of social issues in general thanks to autism, so some advice with emotional stuff might ring hollow.

Edit: it's been a while, been trying to live more happily, starting to wean off my porn addiction, and I'm having some fun with my backlog of unplayed steam games, so I'm doing a lot better all around. Also been talking with my family obviously, a lot of us are scared of therapy so we haven't gone into it but we've at least bothered to try and make up.

Don't think we can give much advice here.

Good therapy would obviously be a proper way to start actually improving things. But I understand just getting that isn't particularly easy. Is there some place you can visit that might give positive experiences? It's good that QQ can make you happy, but actual in person interactions would be better.

Any kind of clubs you could join just to have a good time? I personally had a lot of good experiences with board game/anime/speech clubs in my city. It'd just be a band aid until the actual situation at home improves, but general positive interactions coupled with reasons to be out of the house might at least help things feel a bit better.

because we're not addressing our issues

You've said the most important part out loud. There are resources available for people in most situations, and the counselors that answer calls to 988 (1-800-273-8255 is the same line) are trained far better than most here. They'll be able to talk to you and connect you with help and services in your area.

Sometimes it's hard to trust the government, but I stand up and say, "trust these people." No matter a person's thoughts on the government, the people who answer these calls are just people trying to help people.

And lastly, an article that addresses some of the questions and concerns I personally have had with crisis lines:
What REALLY Happens When You Reach Out to Crisis Lines?

Leave.

Get out. Walk away. If those people are making you worse, get away from them.

Then, get therapy. Get a job. Make new friends. Get out, into the great outdoors, and with time and space, get your head together.

You can't fix others problems without being stable enough to help them up.
