For a god, interaction with another god was always a fraught activity. Were they truly friendly or merely putting on a facade? What plans did they have for your domain, and how poorly were they likely to react if you told them to leave? Were they willing to place themselves under your authority, or were they trying to take over?

In that light, it could almost be considered refreshing, dealing with gods that were extremely honest with their intentions. Now if only all of those intentions weren't bad... "FOUL THING OF WASTE. I WARNED YOUR MASTERS TO TURN BACK, AND INSTEAD THEY SEND ME THIS."

The strangely shaped thing of warped flesh wrapped around twisted bone hissed back at Arceus. "You will bow before Chaos," it said, "We are the true masters of the universe! We are legion, and the Neverborn cannot die for we have not lived! You-"

"SILENCE." Arceus enforced the command with a surge of will, wrapping the abomination in a flow of golden power. "I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE, CREATURE. I FORMED MY WORLD OUT OF THE CHAOS. I AM NOT SO FOOLISH AS TO BELIEVE THAT CHAOS CAN BE KILLED. IT CAN, HOWEVER, BE SET TO ORDER. I WILL NOT END YOU; YOU SHALL HAVE YOUR NAME TAKEN AND SPLIT INTO A THOUSAND PIECES, A THOUSAND NEW SOULS, UNTIL THE MEANING THAT YOU HAVE GIVEN TO YOURSELF IS FOREVER LOST. I SHALL NOT KILL YOU NEVERBORN."

"I WILL RECYCLE YOU."

Arceus sighed at the screams of the pathetic daemon as he shredded it into fragments, using the energy that it carried to create new souls and tossing them into different iterations of the many, many different timelines and worlds of Pokemon. This was not the first time the Four had attempted to invade, despite many attempts at discouraging those psychic pimples. A new approach was in order; at this point Arceus wasn't sure that the creatures had enough self awareness to stop.

Instead, it would be better to attack. The entire reason they were able to try this was the alignment between one of their worlds and one of his; a cosmological annoyance to Arceus but a path of conquest for the Pimples. Still, Arceus was not foolish enough to leave his domain for theirs to challenge them. Instead, it was time for a bit of delegation. And really, her most violent son could use some exercise and catharsis.

Perhaps this new world would suit Giratina.

Perhaps this new world would suit Giratina.

So is Giratina doing most of the talking with the other non-Chaos gods?

Are we going to see pokemon-beastman hybrids? Or the Skaven experiment on the rodent pokemon?

Will the already magical creatures like Gryffons and Hydras going to become pokemon as well?

How will the Ghost type pokemons going to interact with necromancy? Or psykic types with the Warp? Or elemental type with the most similar wind of magic?

Will the dragon type need a rebranding as there are already dragons on Mallus?

Giratina glared down at the world it's progenitor had showed it. This place was, frankly, a cesspit. On a physical level, it was a barbaric place filled with the worst examples of theoretically sentient beings it had ever seen. On a spiritual level it was somehow worse. Giratina honestly could not understand how the abominations currently trying to attack his world were only part of the problems here.

And Arceus had given it the duty of warding all of this away and stopping the incursions. The task wouldn't be easy, but Giratina was sure it could come up with something. A casual Shadow Ball tore apart a squawking nuisance that had been gambling toward its Distortion Portal.

Giratina's first instinct was to just obliterate everything and letting the abominations starve. Simple, elegant, and less stressful than any other option, at least at first. Most of the humans would literally be better off that way. What gave it pause was the presence of the local Ghost-types called "Undead". Those things existing meant that destroying the world and breaking it up to expand the Distortion Zone was likely to be less than effective.

Plus Arceus would probably be mad.

There were other options, but few of them appealed to Giratina. Just throwing a bunch of Pokemon into the world would get some form of result, but was likely to end with a bunch of them being corrupted. There was the idea of setting up temples for the worthy to obtain eggs from, but that would be a lot of maintenance and work. Especially if some of the sneaky evils of the world managed to capture an egg. Perhaps a partner of already experienced ghosts for worthy humans? Or maybe even acting as a god itself, allowing followers to gain the power of the Distortion?

As Giratina pondered, it suddenly noticed something very interesting: a wisp of soul, floating lazily in the Chaos. More importantly, the wisp was calling to it. Giratina hadn't been worshipped in quite a while, but it remembered that no prayer could go to a god that was not addressed by the prayer. So how did this soul end up calling it? Giratina had technically never even touched this world, much less started spreading its name around.

In an instant, Giratina made a decision, reverting to its Origin form and rushing towards the wisp of soul. Even the brief moment of hesitation was nearly too long, as it had to slip through several soul predators and shred a rotten mass of Warp flesh with a Shadow Force tail strike to get the wisp for itself. Rather than stay and fight pointlessly, Giratina ducked back into the Distortion before anything else could react to its presence.

Giratina peered closely at the wisp of soul in its shadow claws. For a Legendary like itself, the actual words of a prayer were largely immaterial. The bit of soul put into the prayer was what really mattered. It would both provide a connection to the worshipper and show both what they really wanted and the circumstances behind the prayer. And this case was certainly interesting.

"SIGMAR! ULRIC! TAAL! ANYONE! SAVE MY DAUGHTER, PLEASE!"

The sheer desperation in the man's soul was obvious, and as Giratina peered through the connection it could see why. Both the man and his daughter were suffering mutations on a massive scale. In fact, the daughter was twisting into a full blown Beastman-well, woman in her case. The father was seemingly becoming a more general mutant. And both had started to change due to exposure to the evil moon of the world. A fire had broken out on the wrong night and forced them out of their hut and into the malevolent radiance, with the woman of the house dying. The man had been wandering since that night, driven from his village by former friends and forced to watch both himself and his daughter twist into new, unnatural forms.

Giratina cocked its head as it considered. It could just drop the prayer wisp and continue to observe. On the other wing though, why would he let the Chaos vermin have his petitioner?

Ottokar whimpered in fear at the visage before him. A cross between a centipede and a snake, the colossal thing towered over him, emerging from a great dark portal and glowing with crimson light. He finally passed out in sheer terror, believing his gods had abandoned him (and they had) as the thing roared in his face. He would not have been comforted to know that there was more than noise in that roar. The first words of a god new to this world echoed out in unmistakable challenge.

[REJOICE MORTAL AND BE AFRAID. I AM THE ANSWER TO YOUR PRAYER!]

@Hangwind you forgot to trademark

So when are the Order gods going to notice the new kids on the block? It be interesting to see Giratina and Arceus compare Khorn to Khain, or mortals turned gods like Sigmar. It be hilarious to see the poke-gods try to bribe/gain favors by offering them their own Pokémon to play with.

How will this story handle the pokedex lore, considering how horrific many of its implications are?

Very important to note that there are no true "Order Gods" in the Old World. There are Law gods, Patron gods, Old gods, and Classical gods, but no overarching alliance of gods against Chaos. That's the domain of the Age of Sigmar. It's also worth noting that the reactions of the gods is usually less important than the reactions of their worshippers. The gods of the Old World are actually quite terribly limited in their own way...

The horrors of the Pokedex are going to be handled in the same way as the lore of Warhammer/40K. Everything is canon, but not everything is an unvarnished truth.
