Post Frequency Policy Question

First day user. I looked around and couldn't find a QA section for a crossposting question: If I crosspost a longfic from ao3 (100k words, 40 chapters) what is the general ballpark for acceptable post frequency?

Basically, is posting one chapter a day too much?

People can post story posts as fast as they want.

As the ROB said. You might want to limit the frequency to your once-a-day, so people can comment on each individual chapter, but staff won't stop you even if you posted it all at once.

I second Lurking. Plus, posting Daily means you'll get a lot more oppurtunities for new readers in generalm

I noticed that most crossposted fics that have all of their current chapters posted at once tend to have less discussions with tue exception of a few outliers.

i'm thinking the same thing. should work out for the next... uhh 36 days. past that, the winds will take me where they will

I really don't see a point in posting a bunch of chapters a day unless you are hitting the character limit per post or moving/posting a mostly finished fic in one go.
TBF a chapter every few days would be more comfortable for the readers and get you more readers.

Per post, ehich is probably something around 64kb max, considering the max size of the TEXT datatype in MySQL.
Of course there might be caps on top of that and the forum software might add more metadata, and it depends on stuf like character encoding.
Some characters in utf-8 take up 1 byte, some take up up to 4.

So it would be in the tens of thousands of characters, but there would be one.
