    Due to my inability to find a suitable engine for my Quest, I'm starting this.

    This thread is one for suggesting engines, systems, and means to run a Quest successfully. There are just a few, simple rules (Yes, I know):

    -Mark if the system is free or not. Provide a link to free resources, if possible. Free resources are preferred, but naturally limited.

    -No suggesting systems for free if 'free' is 'pirated' or an illicit source. I don't know what the legal issues are there, and I'm sure the owners/mods/everyone else wants to avoid getting wrapped up in legal shenanigans.

    -Give a brief summary of what the system offers, if possible, so that people can get an idea of what it offers without diving too deeply into it.

    So, I shall start:

    PATHFINDER

    A complicated system, probably not suited for beginners, but has a lot to refer to and use- equipment, stats, army fighting and kingdom building- it has it all.

    I tend to use variations on TriStat -- dX, SAS, BESM2E, etc. -- for mine. It keeps the complexity down nicely while offering the functionality of a full RPG system.
