I've been seeing more and more stories that are clearly sfw being posted on the nsfw forum.

I understand why the writers are doing this, it gets a lot more attention than the sfw forum, but there are other websites for those kinds of stories.

Is there any chance that something can be done about this? It's starting to become a real annoyance. I go to spacebattles when I want to read sfw stuff.

When I'm here I'm looking for content that wouldn't be allowed there, but I've even seen things being cross-posted.

No.

I swear there's a thread like this every few months now. The answer is always going to be no. This is not just the overflow bin for stories too spicy for SB, it is its own forum and many people here only use it not SB. Things are going to be cross-posted that's just how things are.

QQ is not a porn forum. It's a forum that *allows* porn.

There are plenty of reasons that an author might want to post their story in the NSFW section, even if it isn't lewd. Maybe they want people to be able to post NSFW omake, or they want to allow NSFW discussion of their work (something which people get banned all the time for on other forums), or maybe, as you've noted, they just want more engagement.

The NSFW tag exists to keep SFW users safe from adult content, not the reverse.

I do feel like a practice of "if your story is never going to be NSFW, you have a responsibility to tag it as such" would be greatly helpful to those who want to use NSFW to, gasp, find porn. A child board of NSFW CrW for not-actually-NSFW stories that want to allow NSFW discussion would be an option, too.

IIRC This is something that will kind of be addressed in XF2 where we will apparently have a option which will show a combined sfw/nsfw creative writing section (for those logged in and of age, or just NSFW.) or just the SFW portions for those who aren't logged in.

So I expect tagging for NSFW by content type will be more important in the future.

There are fandoms for which you can't post threads in SB even if those threads are SFW themselves, just because the source material is NSFW.

Like, I just saw that they closed a Gushing over Magical Girls versus thread even if it was SFW. I remember once being warned just over IMPLYING offscreen sex in a story, as well. Which apparently is NSFW enough?
