• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

There are a bunch of threads in the NSFW board that have no right to be there being entirely SFW, and where it's even outright stated that there will be nothing NSFW in it. The common excuse is "oh, there might be violence" or something, but there's almost never anything violent enough to actually classify for an NSFW rating. ASOIAF is SFW, after all.

If NSFW content in the SFW forums gets moved to the NSFW forums, but not vice-versa, then there's no point in having SFW forums in the first place. People will just post their SFW threads in the NSFW forums and dilute the presence of actual NSFW content. Clicking on a story in the NSFW Creative Writing used to mean "There's a good chance this story touches on topics that you won't find on SB/SV, or has content that you wouldn't see there." Now it means "There's a good chance this story is either something copied word for word from SB/SV, or it might as well be there because it's functionally no different." A story that explicitly says "No smut" in the tags, and has no violence to speak of, quite frankly doesn't belong in the NSFW category. It's explicitly SFW.

NSFW forums are getting clogged up by SFW threads which defeats the point of having NSFW threads in the first place.

  1. The non-NSFW parts of this board are effectively dead:
    • SFW Creative Writing has less that a 2 pages of stories updated in the last 2 weeks and it only takes 4 to get to stuff that last updated in October.
    • SFW Questing is even worse, the last thread on the front page literally last updated on the 1st of May.
    • SFW PBP literally the fifth thread last updated October 2020.
  2. Just because the story itself is SFW doesn't mean the author wants to discourage NSFW discussion or omakes about it, and they'd rather have it in the part of this site where people can do that without getting smacked by the mods.
  3. Even if its not porn, some people prefer to have their writing not be discoverable by web-trawlers for various reasons.
  4. It would be far too much work for the mods.
