So his is my first ever time making a thread and my first attempt at writing a fic since I was like 12, I made some characters with the Re zero jumpchain I used it as a cyoa so no 10 year limit. I have a ai image of what the main character looks like he's an oc and I'll put that up as well as the build later if I figure out how. Also real quick the main character is kind of fucked up cause he picked a few drawbacks and the rezero ones are real nasty. So his pov has a bunch of inasne ramblings and is hurried and all sorts of other words for not all together up there.
So with all that said here is the thing

My name is Mizar, it didn't used to be but there is nothing I can do about it now as I stand before the large gated entrance to the capital of Lugnica.

I see the new me reflected in the eyes of the guard at the gate entrance.
I'm wearing a ragged brown cloak with the hood pulled low, I have bandages wrapped around my face just like she always wears, anything to keep others from noticing my features.
I had used a random spin the wheel app to decide my appearance from my pale skin to my green hair even my orange eyes. Everything was decided by chance and now I'm stuck with it.
Same as with my new issues and my new… mother, ah mother must be worried about where I am, she must be crying right now, she must be looking for me, she must- no NO I need to stay away from her I need to otherwise I might just… Stop thinking about it.

"Kid you alright?"

The guard looks worried for me he must be a kind person, I can tell he's a father, he most likely has a son I can tell by the way he's looking at me that he's seeing that person, if I showed him the things I could do he wouldn't worry anymore he would be scared, if he was scared of me and I threatened his son I could get him to do anything I could tell, he would be torn it would be painful but he'd do anything to keep him safe, even taking someone else's child away, but if he found out that I had killed his son the very moment he swung his sword to take another child's life, ah I know what kind of face he would make, I wanted to see it… I wonder what kind of face I'm making right now as I think these horrible things. I know better than to let him see.

"I'm fine sir I just want to enter the city, I need to find my brother."
I keep my head low, I don't like showing my face even when it's hidden

"Where are your parents kid, those are a lot of bandages if you need help then I can-"

Ugh bleeding hearts I don't have time for this, my hand shoots out and grabs him by the face with a bit of advanced blue he becomes loose, open to suggestion.

"Let me through."
He says nothing just shuffles out of the way, such a small manipulation it wasn't anything severe, there would be no damage and he wouldn't even remember it, I did steal away his free will but I didn't care I could have done much worse.

The person I was before cares.

This city is big, like way too fucking big I've been to a dozen different appa sellers and none of them are the right one, the person I was before wasn't made for social situations, the person I am now even less so!

"What a creepy kid" "Are you ok dear?" "How should I know?"

I'm trying my best. Why can't anyone give me the information I need! Disgust, pity, indifference so many different reactions none of them truly helpful.
What time is it? Past noon at least, maybe I should just head to the slums.

"Kid you alright?"

Ah, Subaru died… I should hurry this time

"Hey are you-"

I launch into the air, the guard doesn't matter only Subaru does.

From the sky I can see so much the shabby looking buildings must be the slums now-
I'm in someone's arms, they're like steel, I wouldn't be able to kill this person I freeze.

"Forgive me I didn't mean to scare you so badly, but you scared quite a few people when you took to the skies so suddenly."

The voice is gentle, sincere, comforting as if they're talking to a child… I'm a child now, I forgot the person I am now hadn't felt like a child in a decade, and the person from before was an adult.

I look up slowly, red hair handsome, Reinhart he could certainly kill me but he won't. I'm just a child and as far as he knows I haven't done anything wrong. But the me of now isn't so sure.

We land and he sets me down on my feet, I look back down I don't want him to see my face.

"M,sorry"

"It's alright, your skill with magic is amazing to be able to fly at such a young age. I only know of only one other person that can claim such a feat."

"The Margrave I know, look can I leave or am I under arrest?"

"No no nothing like that it's just your appearance is a bit concerning with those bandages, and you were flying above the city and nobody knew what you were doing so-"

"I was looking for someone, can I go now?"
I don't want to be near this person its scary, he could kill me easily, and if he knew the kind of person I am now, but it isn't my fault how was I supposed to know it would become real I needed more points it was supposed to be an interesting character, ah its not fair its scary so scary its frustrating so frustrating, no matter what I do or how hard I'd try I could never beat him even if I had a million points I'd never be able to do anything the things I could do I would need to escape quickly so I could stay alive I'd never be able to make him cry make him wail make him suffer in a way I could truly enjoy I hate it I hate him I hate me why is this me now I don't want this I didn't ask for this this was never supposed to be real ahhhh I want to gouge his eyes I want to flay his skin I want to trample his pride and I hate that I want that I don't want to want that I don't want to be stuck in my head like this fighting against my self it makes me so angry so sad so-

"Please stop!"

He grabbed my wrists, I was clawing myself, the pain didn't register till now. It's not much I can fix it easily, ever since the me from before became part of me I gained the ability to heal. I don't want him touching me it's scary I hate it!

"El Fura!"

Blades of wind tear at the man, if it was anyone else they would have been splattered leaving a fine red mist but this is Reinhart I can do nothing against him I'm powerless I'm going to die, I don't want to die it's scary.

"Don't kill me, please please don't I don't want to die I don't wanna I don't I"
I'm sobbing, I'm ugly crying the person from before wasn't like the person I am now, but the person I am now is changed by the person who was before, fear and empathy are the new things introduced and the fear is pouring out, its embarrassing.

Reinhart has a look of pity on his face, I want to tear it off with my teeth, the look is also guilty, the me from before feels pity for the monster in front of me and I hate it.

"I don't quite understand what's going on but please forgive me for scaring you, when you wake up it will be in the care of someone else."
He chops my neck-

"Kid you alright?"

Fuck

FUCK

I need to get it together, I need to collect myself
I freaked out, the me of this world's paranoia caused me to see Reinhart as a threat, the me from before feared for their life because of it, he knocked me unconscious because I was a powerful magic user having some kind of breakdown, and while I was unconscious Subaru died a 2nd time.

I'm broken, I'm not the person I was before and I'm not quite the person who was in this body before, I'm someone or something new and I need to man up and deal with it but not now get through arc one, and then I can start working on myself.

I can do this, there won't be a third time…

There was a third time but in all fairness that time was way too fast, what happened in the third loop, I can't remember all the details, just the broad strokes!

"Kid you've been standing there for awhile now do you need-"

"Sir I need to find someone, this city is really big and I am going to try and see if I can find him from the sky, I'll stay at a height where nobody should be able to notice me but please don't call anyone on me!"

"From the sky kid what are you-"

"Please!"

I pour all my stress and desperation into that please and I look him in the eyes not keeping my face down and whatever he sees is enough for him because after a while he says.

"Alright kid, do what you need to."

The part of me from before wants me to do one last thing

"What's your name sir?"

"Uh Gilford?"

"Thank you sir Gilford, this means a lot to me."

And with that I once again take to the skies

What was the morale of my introduction to this story I wonder?

"I really am getting tired of seeing your faces dumb, dumber and dumbest."

As Subaru mumbled to himself over his situation the three thugs began to lose their patience

"Just what is this fool mumbling about?"

"He's probably just too clueless to understand whats going on. How about we show him."

"Guards Someo-"

"DONA"

And suddenly the three miscreants were immobilized by stone that rose up and trapped them leaving only their heads uncovered, Subaru's call for help worked much better than expected!

"Wha-what the hell!?"

A young boy a head shorter than Subaru dropped from the sky landing softly in front of him, the boy was covered by a ratty old cloak and had his skin covered by bandages. All Subaru could make out under the hood was some strands of green hair and a pair of eerie orange eyes.

"I finally found you!"

The boy shouted, somewhere between excitement and relief and pointed at Subaru who with a confused look on his face points at himself "Me?"

"Yes you, I was sent back three times but I've finally found you!"

"Wait sent back, you mean-"

"Excuse me"

Subaru turned to see another new character this one was a tall handsome man with fiery red hair and blue eyes, his charm stat must have been through the roof, he felt the boy from before hiding behind him.

"Thats Reinhart the sword saint, he's the strongest thing in the whole world."

"Calling me a thing like that is a bit hurtful."
Even as he said that he had a handsome easygoing smile on his face

"If this is about me flying Mr.Gilford said it was ok, I needed to find him no matter what."

After he said that it all clicked into place for Subaru, this was his first destined party member, a mage that could trap people in stone and fly and he… wait was he just the save point!

"What is your relationship to one another, you both stand out quite a bit where are you from?"

Ah right he should probably answer the optional secret boss

"Well my good sword saint I am Natsuki Subaru the forever penniless and this is…"

"My name is Mizar, I'm just a mage… I also don't have any money"

"That's right and he is my first destined companion!"

Reinhart tilted his head slightly

"Is that right?"

My new mage companion then answered

"Yes that's right, I'm gonna keep him safe from now on."

Ah, my new little bro may have looked creepy but he was an angel, not in the same way not Satella is but still he finally had an ally, one that understood what was going on!

"I don't know whats going on"

"Eh!?"

After reassuring Reinhart and releasing the three idiots, Subaru was excited to get to know his party member better and get some information but apparently he didn't know anything!

"All I know is I keep being sent back to the city gates early in the day and I can just feel that you are the cause."

"Ah sorry you got pulled into this then."

And he really was, this was just a kid a middle schooler and he was now going to fight a killer with him

"Its fine, its not like I blame you I actually kind of like the idea of us being tied together like this its comforting in a way."

"Well when you put it like that is sounds kind of like marriage."

Subaru really hoped he didn't mean it like marriage, he still had his sights set on not Satella after all!

"Thats not how I meant it at all, its just… nice not to be alone in the world, and since we're stuck together, its just yknow?"

Mizar was a bit strange at one moment he was stoic and confident, and at others he switched to timid and expressive Subaru could imagine him blushing under his bandages.

"Yeah I get it!"

He really didn't but it didn't hurt to comfort his mage, until he got his Excalibur his party would be pulling most of the weight. But that did beg the question

"So how strong are you?"

"Very."

"How much is very?"

"I could wipe the entirety of the slums from the map before Reinhert would come in and kill me."

"Did you have to put it in terms like that"

"Oh sorry."

Noooo now his mage bro was looking all sad, he was avoiding eye contact and hugging himself and everything!

"Its fine, its fine so you were a bit edgy with your example its fine your at that age after all!"

"Ok, lets just get to the place faster, I've never been so please continue to guide me Subaru."

Well if he was comfortable enough to call him by his first name he couldn't have been too bad at being a party leader!

"Puck! Block!"

As Elsa's blade was blocked by a shield of ice Subaru let out a breath of relief, Mizar was standing off to the side not moving, poor kid even if he was a mage it made sense that if a killer suddenly appeared you'd freeze, he did too in the 2nd loop.

No sooner had he though that when Elsa suddenly started jumping all around

"Hey wait did she go crazy why is she just bouncing of the walls like a kid on a sugar rush?"

"She's dodging the attacks from the boy with the bandages."
Subaru turned towards Puck confused

"What do you mean."

"The boys attacking from multiple directions at once with invisible blades of air all without moving or saying anything to make it harder for her to react, for a girl her reactions and instinct are terrifying."

"Oh its been so long since someones called me a girl before~"

As she finished her sentence the ground erupted underneath her, a tower of sharp stone with pieces of her cloak skewered onto it was the only thing the occupants of the shack could see, Mizar had destroyed the entire front of the building.

"You got her, but you went a bit overboard buddy!"

Then from the shadows Elsa pounced towards the mage and her kukri tore through his throat

"Mizar!"

Damnit, how did she survive that they'd have to remember this for next-

"Jiwald"

A hole was opened up in Elsa's chest as a laser from Mizar's finger, the gash in his throat was healed like it was never even there.

"Oh looks like you got-"

"El Fura"

Mizar didn't let her finish her sentence

"Don't try that with me, I know a thing like you won't die from a simple hole in your heart"

Elsa's legs were removed by a blade of wind

"Calling me a thing is a bit hurtful you know"

"But its true isn't it?"

Her arm went flying

"You're a cursed doll a tool that will chase after a target endlessly."

Her eyes exploded in a bloody mess

"Whats worse is you don't even have the courtesy to scream in agony for me, even though I'm trying my best to brutally kill you, no fear at all."

Spears of stone pierced her all over, she was healing still but maybe it slowed down a bit

"Ah how wonderful, that look in your eyes I remember you now~"

Mizar's assault halted for a moment and She rushed at felt ignoring the ice spears Puck blasted into her in her mad dash, but before she reached her target

Wind, a storm, a blast of air like Subaru had never seen before rose around the group and Elsa was flung far into to sky.

All Subaru could do was think, "My first party member is so OP!"
