• The site has now migrated to Xenforo 2. If you see any issues with the forum operation, please post them in the feedback thread.
  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
  • The rules regarding NSFW links have been updated. See here for details.

SUGGESTION: Ignore/Hide Threads by Tag

We've all been there. We see an interesting thread, decide to click on it, read the tags, and discover that it covers topics that we don't like. Sure, we could just set the thread to ignore, but if it's a popular thread, it's going to be CONSTANTLY on the first page of the forums we're searching and it's going to take up a space that blocks other topics from showing up if we forgot to block it from showing up on the Thread List. Plus, if you go on an ignoring spree, that's a lotta time wasted that you could've spent doing something else, such as making threads yourself or shitposting about Ultraman!

What can we do about this? Well, we could just grin, hold our noses, and soldier on. Ignoring a problem is a solution that's been tried and tested…and has been found out to not work very well.

Or, we could have a setting that allows us to auto-magically ignore/hide threads that contain any variation of tags in our handy dandy Tag Blacklist.

Here's how it works in my head:

1. Go to Settings.

2. Click on Tag Blacklist.

3. Enter any tags that we don't want to show up in the boards we frequent (which means that, yes, we can set it to either be site wide or by board), separating the tags by commas as you normally would when creating a new thread. Any threads that have the tags we blacklisted will be automatically hidden on each board's/that specific board's Thread List.

4. Save our current Blacklist.

5. Have a better time surfing QQ because all the threads with tags we don't wanna see are hidden, meaning that they don't show up while we're browsing through Creative Writing, for example.

Hell, why stop there—we can have separate lists for separate boards! And be able to see what tags are being blocked by clicking on a button at the top of the board with an option to head directly to our blacklist from that very same board! The possibilities are endless!

TL;DR: I humbly suggest that the site allow us to blacklist threads by tag, please. I'm tired of having to hide every single thread that I don't like/don't want to see manually and just wanna surf in peace.
