The Challeneges When In A Relationship With A Hero/Adventurer

In a scenario in some typical primitive fantasy setting, there is a person who is currently a merchant, cook, or other typical ordinary occupation. Somehow, he or she got lucky and went into a romantic relationship with some hero or adventurer who is doing typical dangerous hero/adventurer things.

If you are dating someone with a dangerous occupation like that, what challenges may come up in such a relationship?

Same challenges that spouses of firefighters/cops/soldiers face. Theor loved one could get injured or killed on a mission.

And the spouse might get taken hostage or threatened to pressure the adventurer for some nefarious reason.

Also, it depends on what the adventurer does, and how they treat their spouse. Does the adventurer constantly roam the land doing missions, or do they stay in the same region? If they roam, do they bring them spouse with them or not?

If the adventurer roams, and the spouse stays in one place, well, long distance relationships can be difficult. If the spouse goes with the adventurer, that exposes the spouse to dangers, and they can’t put down roots.

The adventurer or hero could be a roamer or sick to the local area. Either can be speculated.

A big shot may make a lot of enemies. If said enemies cannot take down the hero, then they may decide to go after the considerably more vulnerable significant other.

 

To further the soldier comparison, would the generic hentai fantasy world's version of Jody be the ugly bastards?

 

Probably, probably not.

If you were the adventurer, you would expect your lover to have decent tastes. You have the stupidly attractive physical features found in many JRPG fantasy settings.
