The invisitext revealer button behaves inconsistently depending on site theme

The invisitext revealer button (an unofficial name for the eye that appears at the top of posts which transforms transparent text into clickable opaque highlighted text) doesn't show up for everyone. Experimentation shows that messing with the site theme can cause the eye to reappear.

Here are two random quotes from the NSFW thread where the issue was discovered for a discussion of specifics:
It only showed up for me when I switched my theme and then switched it back.
Nope, don't have any eye on mine.

Neat. Had no idea that existed. I tried out all the styles - the button shows up on every one except for 'light' and 'dark', for me. Although, judging by some of the posts in the aforementioned thread, that doesn't seem to be consistent with other's experiences. Curious to see what could be causing this.
