So, while I appreciate the 'Chaos rules all' style shown here as much as the next guy... All it actually looks like to me is that after each paragraph you asked yourself the following and implemented the most chaotic option that came to you.
To wit: "How can I make this situation worse?"
We have unspecified chaos forces spontaneously appearing all over, Genestealers also spontaneously spawning all over, the Eldar also spawning wherever was most inconvenient, the AdMech calling and receiving reinforcements in moments, the Custodes appearing all the way from TERRA to acquire the STC free of charge with the only reasonable time frame meaning that this had to be an event precogged well in advance by teh emprah, Tzeench managing to overwhelm a Unison Device's protections with ZERO possibility of knowing how it works nor how to even interface with it properly, random AI deciding to crash the party in his uber warship and steal the archaeotech bearing sisters, Harry getting conveniently ganked by previously stated unspecified chaos forces because obviously they knew in advance what he was going to do and where he was going to go and how potentially important he was so they could open a warp rift and kick his entire train through it, and even after Rico has his come-to-jesus moment thanks to the Chozo and kicks Tzeench in the nads obviously
since Chaos is all powerful it can instantly warp storm the planet at will and cause everyone to be separated. Why did the Kerbal group even need to launch? The Rising Phoenix was not even dimensionally adjacent to Necromunda as the dock is linked to the warehouse and will just open wherever Green goes.

It feels like a couple chapters were crunched together in haste here. Otherwise, good stuff.
I too would like to know why the kerbels had to launch, the warehouse is pretty invaunrable when the owner doesn't leave the door open.

They should have been perfectly safe.

Depends on the author actually, the warehouse might not be protected or everything is on pause or something. There are lots of different things, and I don't think we were ever told which one it is for this fic. (alternatively it's been a while and I forgot)

Great chapter. Now SI,his waifu,Harry&friends,Rico ,Kerbals and Sororitas would end in various interesting places. Some 5-10 chapters to gather them again,i quess.
And - they are right about IoM from WH40.It is beyond saving, all you could done is built better in other place.
If Harry get Sororitas harem,he could create half of new humanity.SI with Mio next half.

Can somebody explain what happend.

wel that was a cluster fuck in the end we everyone faction on board well written :D
will be fun to see them recover from this all and getting there bearings

Speranza? Nice

Can somebody explain what happend.

The plans of 7 major factions (AdMech, Satori, Emp, Chaos, Speranza, Genestealers, and Eldar) cashed into each other simultaneously, resulting in glorious, glorious chaos.

The end result is:
- AdMech have a STC (the leaking one from Van Saar)
- Emp have a STC (one of the copy from Satori)
- the Speranza secured the sisters (I think ?)
- the Kerbal made a non-warp jump aboard their space ship
- Satori/Mio/Rico teleported away in a random magical jump
- Harry is stranded on the planet. Necromunda got warp storm'ed, so I don't see him getting away soon flenser is right, Harry got sucked in a rift.
- The genestealer made a move, through we don't know what this move is. I expect a Tyranids visit soon

Honestly I'm only worried about Harry in this since he doesn't have a valkyrie core and the tech he does have doesn't upgrade itself much except his prosthetics. The sister's should be fine together and the other two have access to the forge or at least it's powers. As for the Kerbels their very DNA is about spacecraft and going into space. They are like the Ork are to waghhh!!! So even if they could be corrupted all they would do would slap a bloody skull logo on the side of their ship and call it good. Love the story so far keep up the good work but remember not to burn yourself out.

The vacation on Necromunda is over, MC finally realizes being in 40k isn't a joke yet somehow doesn't realize the only way to fix it is to throw the entire 40k universe into the celestial forge to smelt and hammer out all of its impurities.

Indeed.WH40 is fucked beyond repair, with possible exceptions of Silent King ,Trazyn and Farsight.

So, Update for this week is late due to some IRL issues sapping motivation. I'll get to the interludes soon, don't worry.

In any case, I figured I'd do a reply corner since I can't get you a chapter yet.

I like the story but I fell like your just writing torture porn now with everything going wrong

...I had Intended to ignore your silliness outright, but that is not fair when I'm doing a full reply corner, so let's get you set straight.
What happened on Necromunda is not me trying to play Misery porn. I hate that shit with a passion, especially in Wormfics where people think that Taylor having actual happiness means you're doing something wrong. The events of the Battle of Necromunda were set up well in advance and with proper foreshadowing if you actually looked:

Chaos made a big move on the STC that was thwarted by Satori and Mio, resulting in them facing the Torizo Guardian and ultimately acquiring their Chozo tech upgrades for their Valkyrie Cores (as well as unlocking Thoth.)
The Sororitas were being used as catspaws by the Inquisition (or a faction thereof) to recover the STC with minimal involvement of other Imperial factions.
The Mechanicus responded really the only fucking way they were capable of responding with a fill STC in play: complete bumrush.
The Speranza caught the transmission form Necromunda, noted the STC, and redirected to the planet for reasons unknown.

Once everything kicked off, the Eldar on-planet (look it up, this shit actually happens on Necromunda) use d the opportunity to try and deny an asset to the Imperium, especially because a full STC is a partial win condition for Humanity. They failed because they ran headfirst into Rico.
Mechanicus deploys HARD, and begins to subjugate the world. Using appropriate tools, they are able to locate the Van Saar STC quickly. and recover it.
Chaos forces aligned with Tzeentch make a MAJOR move upon the revelation of Rico's power, and an avatar of Tzeentch itself, created for this purpose, is dispatched withthe objective of corrupting the Unison Device. Rico's own hilarity combined with Satori's upgrades and foresight end up giving him an out, and he leaves Tzeentch a black eye for the trouble.
With STC recovered (even if it's damaged) Mechanicus feels confident in upping the orbital bombardment game, forcing bad times for Valkyrie team, who cannot go any higher in scale without destroying the planet. instead, Satori uses Malfean Stealth. it was Super Effective....on everything but Tzeentch.
The Blue Booger throws a bitch fit for losing and the end result has a warp storm kick off over the planet due to one of the four being pissed.

nowhere in there am I escalating for no reason. if anything, that is STANDARD escalation for the forces involved. if anything, I was tame.

Do remember that this is the ORIGINATOR FRANCHISE of the word GrimDark. Shit gets real here, quick and in a motherfucking hurry. I have no intentions on trying to blunt the blow when the reality on the ground asserts itself.

...oops, I forgot to address the Custodes. The flashes of light that were getting used were Golden, were they not? And I do believe that I established that Emps is actively watching the area. Goldy saw a chance and sent his best to take advantage. He would have gotten more, but the Booger's pissyfit disrupted things.

In fairness, the issue with the Imperium is the Imperium as an Institution. The Imperium as a people are both salvageable and worth the effort.

Can somebody explain what happend.
So my question is what happened to Harry and his group and what was with that vision that Rico saw?
Harry and his train load of gangsters were kicked through a rift...
The plans of 7 major factions (AdMech, Satori, Emp, Chaos, Speranza, Genestealers, and Eldar) cashed into each other simultaneously, resulting in glorious, glorious chaos.

To expand on Nimeroni's statement, what we had here was a pretty standard Gambit Pileup, in which everyone who wasn't the Mechanicus was scrambling to make up ground from the utterly ballsy play that they made. The rest was 40k being 40k.

as for the outcomes, the obvious ones are there for all to see. the less obvious ones will be addressed in the interlude...except the Necromunda Genestealer cult, which gets a note here.

The Scions of the Claw (or something like that, I am being lazy and not wanting to go wiki diving for the name) made a move when it became clear that the activity on Necromunda was more than a big move from the Mechanicus. When adding in the Chaos incursion...well, they took their chances.

Did Rico just achieve Illumination and thus become immune to Chaos corruption?
Not immune, more like 80% resistant.
Well. I suppose a Ruinous Power does have a lot of butt to hurt.

Rico had some other things going on as well as his "illumination". flenser is correct in that it is not total immunity...yet. Instead, the system worked to adapt Rico to the maingn influence and allow him to purge or absorb it as he felt like. combine this with some Aura shenanigans and a hardcoded message hidden where nobody could ever find it and it spells minor plot point.

If it's any consolation I had just gotten finished rewatching The Bourne Ultimatum at the time...

Honestly I'm only worried about Harry in this since he doesn't have a valkyrie core and the tech he does have doesn't upgrade itself much except his prosthetics. So the kernels are out in the wider galaxy… for some reason I feel like they will land on a Ork Planet and be mistaken as "relly weird gitz, but Dey got da ork in em. Jusht smal en all"
wel that was a cluster fuck in the end we everyone faction on board well written :D

I was (and still am) very, very inclined to allow the Kerbals and Orks to interact. I think it might be amusing.

Not like it was a real vacation anyway. more like a FOB where people could relax from full fucking combat condition. That things spiraled the way they did has to do with the ripples caused Satori's existence, if anything.

As for the general Fucked-ness of 40k...not all is yet lost, though the battle to prevent the end will be long and bloody.
And there is a Reason that Satori is taking the route that he is. Would you like for the Necrons to put in a sudden appearance before you were ready?

So far this is one of the best warhammer 40k fics I have read excluding imperium ascendent
Thank you for the compliment. I will endeavor to meet and exceed your expectiations.

I have yet to find any other CF/warhammer stories myself. Where are these others?
You know, now that I think about that specifically, I can't remember any particular ones? I KNOW that there are more out there but the fact I can't remember titles or more than general storylines is pretty telling in and of itself, ya know?

There was one where a gamer in 40K did a pretty good impersonation of a Forge-Borne, though.

P.S. Is Forge-Borne pretentious or fancy enough to call those who take up the Celestial Forge?

There is good story about SI becoming Man of Iron,When in doubt blame the Eldars, but unfortunatelly - dead as dodo.
Another, still going with Taylor from Worm saving WH40 - Weaver option, still going.

If you want laugh, find on finfiction srossover of WH40 and ST,where Luke get Eldar waifu with Emprah blessing. So bad written, then actually good.Forget tittle.

The original question was specifically about celestial forge X Warhammer.

Interlide: the Changing Tides
Above the planet Necromunda, the Fleet known as the Mechanicus Dominus was in total disarray. The sudden warp storm that had erupted around the world, and that was rapidly expanding to cover the entire system, was stifling in its strength, and silently judged those who had been caught in its snare as damned.

For the people of the planet itself, this was only barely a noticeable change from the new normal of open warfare on previously unfeasible scales.

The remnants of the planetary governance ware hard at work attempting to restore communications and organize a proper armed reaction to the new development, along with making inroads with the now stranded Mechanicus forces on-planet in a desperate bid to deny the world to Chaos and the Xenos hordes that even now threatened to overrun the Palatine Cluster.

The only reason Valerie Kransmith knew of these things is because she herself had been assigned to organizing the remains of Van Saar in light of the new circumstances. Circumstances in which she felt that she was woefully unprepared.

Which seemed to be the theme of the day, if one thought about it.

Currently, she was inside an improvised command center, surrounded by the few aides she had remaining after the madness of the last weeks, alongside the command staff of the local Garrison Commander. The reports that were coming in from the myriad battlefields surrounding their area of responsibility were…grim, to put it lightly.

"Ma'am, we have a priority report from the field. Patching it through to you now."

Valerie nodded at the comms technician as the main screen pulled up the video, which showed an equally ramshackle command post that had been set up closer to the main battle site at Hive Primus, now the site of that…anomaly.

"Ma'am. Lieutenant Kallander Reporting in. I have the initial assessment for the area, if you are ready to hear it."

Valerie gave a sharp nod.

"Very well. The situation here is as follows…"

The report was dire, to put it lightly. A great deal of the Hive cluster (and not just Primus itself, as they'd thought) was in ruins, with the uncompromised forces scattered across the entire range. Pockets of opposition from enemy forces were still spread around the entire area, preventing any real effort to regroup by the PDF…and the remaining Mechanicus forces were in disarray as they tried to regroup themselves after the final moments of the assault before the Storm fell upon them.

The anomaly that was now Hive Primus remained, even though it was rapidly deteriorating. Best estimates put the collapse of it, whatever it was, within the next few days at the latest. Past that point, nobody was sure, but the general consensus among those in what was left of high command believed that the removal of the anomaly would weaken the warp storm surrounding Necromunda, allowing for reinforcements.

Which would be needed. Even in their own area of operations, there were marauding bands of chaos forces and what looked to be genestealer cultists roving more or less with impunity through the contested zones. Kallander himself professed to having seen and possibly killed a minor daemon of some kind as well, with the expectation of more to come.

All in all, it was a shitshow of epic proportions, and nobody was going to benefit from it in any real way.

Valerie paid as much attention as she was able to, but the news being so dire was almost routine at this point. Tuning out the hammerblows was coming easier.

"...also, ma'am, concerning the people you asked us to be on the lookout for, I believe I have a lead."

That, however, caught her attention.

"What news do you have? Quickly, now."

The Lieutenant coughed. "Ah. yes. With respect to a Mister Harrisyn Cain, survivors report seeing a man of his description during the harder parts of the siege. According to them, he was using some sort of revolutionary weapon of some kind, that allowed him to mow down entire swathes of cultists and mechies alike with terrifying ease. Last they'd seen, he was escorting a group of survivors towards the railway interlinks, possibly to use the tunnels to get out of the hive. None have seen anything of him since.

As for the other person, there was no one matching the description of Mr. Satori Green in any way."

Valerie nodded, thoughts whirling. It was still possible…"Very well then. Continue your search as time permits. If there's nothing else?"

"No, Ma'am."

"Very well. Dismissed."

Valerie trend back to her planning after the communication was ended. This was not necessarily the best news, but tit was decent enough. Cain was potentially still alive, and with him, perhaps even Green as well.

Hopefully they had made it through this hellscape in once piece…

Harrisyn woke up.

A quick check of his body confirmed that he was in fact in one piece, although from a glance, the same could not have been said of the train itself. Oddly enough, the train engine and cars were broken in such a way as to deliver the least harm to the people within.

"Is everyone alright?" "yeah, I'm okay, someone check the rear cars!!!" "Anyone seen Cain?"

Harry dragged himself to his feet. "Yeah, I'm here. We got a count?"

"Everyone's here…wherever here is."

And that was the question. Where the hell were they?

A glance at the exterior showed them to be in something looking similar to a cargo bay of a starship. Based on the general rumbling, it was one that was underway, as well.

He had a lot of experience with those, after all.

"Alright, we seem to be in the clear for now. Get everyone rallied up and get out of the wreckage of that train. I'll go take a look around and see what we're working with. Use the radios to keep in touch."

Harry's initial foray didn't find much. The space that they had been dumped into was devoid of anything but themselves, and the one access door he could see was secured quite firmly from a casual glance. Sure, he could force it, but doing so would have its own consequences.

"Cain. Do you read me? This is Sister Superior Arikia Vanalyn. Please respond."

Well now. THAT changed things.

"This is Cain. Where are you, and what's the situation? Are the others with you?"

"We appeared on this ship after a forced teleport of some kind, unlike anything that I've seen before. Right now I believe we're near the command deck, but the ship's layout is unfamiliar to us, so we're improvising as we go. As for the others…I was under the belief that they had intended to collect you before moving to escape. They are not with you?"

"No. And that is worrying, for an entirely different reason. We need to link up and regroup. Find somewhere we can meet outside of this cargo bay I'm stuck in, and we'll work from there."

"THAT WILL NOT BE NECESSARY."

Everyone froze at the voice echoing across the ship's 1MC.

"PLEASE FOLLOW THE GUIDE MARKS THAT WILL APPEAR BEFORE YOU. YOU WILL NOT BE HARMED IN ANY WAY."

Harry, of course, was not convinced right off. "And what reassurances do we have that you or the Crew will uphold that, eh? What can we go on? And just who the hell are you anyway?"

This time the voice came out of Harry' vox unit. "You have my personal word, and nothing more. As for why this is sufficient…my designation is Silent Lightkeeper."

Harry heard a gasp over the vox as one of the Sisters came to the same conclusion that he did.

"And I am the central AI and control system of the Ship you know as the Speranza."

The command node of the Mechanicus Dominus was, despite everything that one would think after the disaster that was the current invasion, in rather good spirits. Yes, they had lost a not inconsiderate amount of their forces in the immediate aftermath of engaging the anomaly and the Sororitas that seemed to support it, but even then there had been significant gains in other areas.

For one, several critical areas of the planet were solidly under the control of the Dominus fleet, and a general search of the area was underway for any form of archaeotech that could be found. Thus far, it had borne fruit in the form of several previously unknown STC fragments of middling repair, which initial analysis proved could be potentially useful.

Better still, the local populace was too busy fending off the oncoming swarm of chaotic forces and the local xenos cultists to attempt to contest their position, meaning that they could continue their search indefinitely, and wait out the warp storm currently ravaging the system.

The ships that had managed to get clear before the storm closed in would likely take news of the discoveries to the nearest forge world, possibly even Mars itself, and likely return with reinforcements when the time came, meaning that all they had to do was hold their position and wait everyone out. There was really no way to lose.

Even the presence of traitorous forces on the planet were not enough to dampen their spirits.

Although, there was an undercurrent of uncertainty in the noosphere as well. Supposedly the Speranza had been seen clearing orbit before the storm swept them up, and was now headed to parts unknown, and with an unknown cargo as well. All attempts to hail the ship had met with failure, and there were clear readings of a teleportarium being used prior to the ship breaking orbit.

The lower nodes were still working on collecting and collating all of the data generated by the battle for potential use later on. This is why it was perfectly understandable that a report had been missed until now that was of utmost importance.

The report was a routine communique from one of the fleet's fast couriers, notifying them of the ship breaking orbit and making best speed to Mars. The reason for doing so was heavily encrypted, and was meant for the command node alone.

The news contained within would shake the entire fleet to the core.

The being known as the God Emperor of Mankind looked out upon the galaxy and saw only waste and ruin. His grand design cracked and splintered, breaking under its own weight, even as his few champions fought valiantly in his name. Across the galaxy, billions of humans died in his name as they beat back the ever encroaching hordes of the Alien, mutant, and chaotic alike.

His gaze swept across the world of Necromunda, now shrouded in a warp storm, and he could only chuckle to himself. The foolish man with the stolen powers had been warned of what would happen if he failed to come to heel, and now the price had been paid as the ruinous ones snuffed out all that he had built. Even then, the fool had revealed a treasure beyond price, and the brazen attempt by Chaos to eliminate the fool had allowed him to make a bold move and secure the real prize among all the dross.

Even now, his Custodes were relaying the STC to the most trusted members of the Imperial Palace, to have the knowledge within disseminated as need be among those who were worthy. Better yet, he was certain that the STC had the knowledge needed to begin proper repairs to the Golden Throne, which would allow him to eventually begin healing himself instead of bleeding out as he was now.

A Pity, that the fool who had allowed such mutations to form and persist on himself would fall without being shown the proper path, but such was the way of things. Better still, traces of his legacy yet remained in the wild, with the Rogue Sororitas being ferried to him even now, along with the technology behind the enhanced armor they wore.

Proper examination and duplication would allow him to mass-produce the technology used within, and augment his soldiers even further in the fight against Chaos.

Now, there was only to wait until all the pieces fell into place…

In the depths of space, an event was occurring.

A line of energy drew itself across the empty space, stretching to a certain length, before expanding into a window into a completely different dimension. This window then seemed to move, dragging itself along a predetermined vector in space.

And from this window emerged a Ship. the form was lightly rippling, and there were signs of damage to what were likely the engines, but the main structure itself was sound.

And marked in clear lettering on the side of the ship was its name: Rising Phoenix.

Jeb Kerman breathed a sigh of relief as the transition back to realspace completed with no hiccups–-unlike the transition to hyperspace, which had caused several major issues related to both propulsion and the main reactor that needed fixing before they could go anywhere.

The red blinking screens in front of him were proof enough of that. Hell, from what he could tell, they were running on auxiliary power.

And that wasn't including the amount of time for whatever process that had been active in converting the ship at the time needed to finish.

Even now, looking back, it had been super close. No one had expected that the Phoenix would be shunted outside the warehouse space along with the section of the Shipyard it was in until it had actually happened. The fact that they had not been detected in the process was nothing short of a miracle.

Once that weird storm of wrongness had started rolling in, there was really no other option but to book it ASAP, and deal with things later. Speaking of, might as well check to see if he'd killed them anyway with that stunt…

[General Status Report. All crew sections at Condition Green. Hull integrity 97%. Life Support Stable.]

And yet another sigh of relief was breathed. At least THAT was not going to be an issue.

Jeb pulled up the manifest of what they had managed to take onboard before everything went to hell. From the looks of it, there were enough provisions onboard to last them at least a month and a half, if not more, at standard rations. With reduced rations they could stretch things even further, and there was always the possibility of the compact farming systems being properly set up and sued to extend that even more. Overall, they were in a good position to wait it out for things to be fixed up.

That did bring up the question of where they were at, though. Bringing up what few sensor systems he had left, Jeb took a look around.

The system they were in seemed nice enough. About nine planets, a solid mix of rocky planets with a set of gas giants and what looked like a semi-frozen water world as well near the back end...and an odd duck of a dwarf planet that had the weirdest orbit path, being completely off the plane of ecliptic. The whole shebang was orbiting around a yellow star, cheerfully burning bright for them despite the asteroid field blocking things off from the inner system.

So far, nothing too major. Though there was that one planet there near the center, with only a single abnormally large moon, that was in a position that it might have some life on it.

No, wait. Make that definitely had life on it. Sensors had picked up the presence of not only several spacecraft moving between the planet and it's moon, but also what looked like some kind of space station as well.

This was notable for two reasons: One, because there was a faint echo of a signal coming from near that station.

The second was because there was a very strange resonance wave coming from the same spot.

And it was drawing something towards it from out-of-system. Sensors couldn't tell what the hell the thing was, only that it was big.

It was perhaps fortunate, then, that the phoenix was drifting towards the outer edge of the system as repairs were getting worked, and away from whatever the hell was about to happen to those poor bastards on that station.

The Faint signal had finally been cleaned up enough for a general identification run, and it looked to be a general distress beacon of some kind.

Oh, well. Nothing they could do about it right now, not with the ship in the sorry state they were in at the moment.

Jeb said a prayer for whoever that was, out there in the inky black of space.

Apologies for this taking so long. I have things not going well in my life at the moment. In either case, Satori's next adventure begins here.

I dropped enough of a hint for what's happening, if you pay close enough attention. I am curious as to who will figure it out...

Huh so the emperor thinks he's dead and that his power was some kind of mutation, well won't he be surprised as hell when he shows up now longer able to been seen in the future or lost and a equal to his own power or even greater then the emperor. On one hand the emperor is kind of a asshole but he has been a literal corpse on a golden throne watching everything he build burn slowly for 10 thousand years so... ya

that said the MC was a moron he knew about chaos and how if he didn't find a wave to hide him self from future sight he was fucked. But the STC database did come out of nowhere I still find it strange as hell a complete database of mankind's technology was just found on the floor of a cave not even some dark age bunker just a cave lol.

I have mixed feelings about Emps. Satori is so out of context that he has no idea what he's talking about, and while I can sympathise with him- the fact that Satori kept those 'mutations' left a number of problems to deal with socially and left him in a situation where it was inevitable that he'd cause/be hunted/get caught in an event like this.

Still, it's always wonderful when people think you're dead. Makes it so much easier to build up what you need. That aside, those poor eldar, showing up on planet to try and kill Satori, only to fail horribly and never catch sight of him. hah!
