Okay so ive been gone for a while and i wanted to make sure of something. I wanted to try to continue a dead quest of mine. Would that be considered unacceptible?

Go right ahead, reviving sleeping/dead quests is good.

Which one? Without link nobody knows what kind of quest you want to necro-fu.
 
I've never heard of anyone having something against the actual author restarting a quest....
 
I love seeing dead quests come back to life, especially ones I participated in.

You might have some trouble getting everyone to come back, but if you keep at it your playerbase will come back.
 
Not that I ever stop writing it, but everyone seems happy when Nameless Shadow updates.

Write what you want.
