Well, it has finally come to this. There is a decent number who have seen this title before, but after over ten years, it has officially been posted as a web serial. You can especially thank a few users including @StrifeHavoc, along with a team of several artists, authors, and editors, for making this a reality.

"The year is 2084 AD. Magic users known as Justices have existed since the dawn of written history. However, many distrust Justices and see them as an aberration of the human race. Designated as Anti-Magic Faction groups, these xenophobic militants of humanity have spread worldwide to eradicate Justices and those who support them.

Aya Masayoshi is a middle school student on Arahi, an island encroached by AMF influence, as crime and corruption run the country. Her life changes upon meeting a young girl on the run from the authorities while releasing an alien threat as old as the Justices themselves. Now a Justice herself, Aya rises to the challenges ahead of her, whether it be overcoming her issues at school and home, confronting this ancient menace, or triggering a revolution to end the tyrannical world order for good."

Aya is not who one would call an ordinary middle schooler, especially under the increasingly authoritarian administration that governs Arahi Island. Even more so with her father dead, living with her uptight mother, and issues at school. The closest she has to a living family are her childhood friend Miki and her peregrine falcon friend Athena.

Among her parents, Aya looked up to her deceased father, valuing the gifts she keeps such as her ring. However, his greatest gift, she believes, is the countless stories she told her. All of which were historical stories and legends that involved around a Black Knight, a mainly anti-heroic archetype who protects the people it cares about despite committing deeds and holding a public reputation like those of a villain.

One day, an accident occurs at her school that drags her into a conspiracy. The next moment, she ends up becoming a Justice, the very things the AMF persecute alongside their Pro-Magic human supporters. In addition to investigating this conspiracy, Aya seizes this opportunity to rebel against the AMF, for her father, friends, the Arahian people who struggle, and for becoming the Black Knight she always wished to be.

Although classified as a peregrine falcon, Athena's breed stood out with their unusual black wings and red eyes. Perhaps that uniqueness is what allows Aya to form a bond between with her when they met, giving her the name during her research into the early origins of Justices.

Athena stood out even further from her peers over the next two years ever since Aya saved her as the only survivor of her family cast. When on Arahi, she would always return to her home at the Hayabusa Shrine, fiercely defending it from other birds and humans. Athena also has a considerably strange habit of watching over Aya like a stern mother, even though she treats her like a close friend in Miki's absence.

Athena also tends to give out strange abilities that most birds don't normally have: specific calls whenever she detects lies or negative and malicious speech, rapid recovery from wounds that would normally end a bird's ability to fly or walk, incredible strength and speed even for a normal peregrine falcon, and is smart enough to pick at locks and other human-made machinery. Even with the years she spent with Athena, Aya still much to learn about her, and while not feeling malicious by any stretch, her true motivations for her behavior is unknown.

The existence of Arahi and its eight outer island chains is so bizarre that many consider the nation to be its own world. Throughout the 1,000 years since settlers first arrived, Arahi played a vital role in the affairs of the Pacific and even European powers. It has been known by many names, from its ancient name, Ounishima, to the "Island of Birds" by the Chinese, to "The Switzerland of the Pacific" in modern times. No matter the age, those in and out of Arahi agree that its people are defined by their pride, valuing the strength to uphold their ideals, loyalty towards one another—even in informal relations—and defiance against the norms of each era.

Early accounts of Arahi were recorded in Japan during the Heian era, as people from Kyushu and southern Honshu witnessed sudden, massive clouds of volcanic ash that blocked the sky and spread across the Eurasian continent. Several small-scale expeditions discovered Arahi and the outer islands, which were still forming after an unknown cataclysmic event. Although they were left unclaimed during this period due to their volcanic state, the land was soon largely inhabited by birds of various species, including those found on the opposite hemisphere, even from what would later be called the American continents.

Early settlements were established in the 1200s, during the Kamakura period of the Japanese calendar and the Song Dynasty of China, as the island cooled down and it became more suitable for human habitation. Japanese settlers were largely composed of exiles who wanted to "disappear" from authorities, and they arrived on the outlying Island they named Toriyama (now known as Oda), as well as in the West and Northwest sections of the island. Meanwhile, the majority of settlers from the Eurasian mainland were Chinese civilians fleeing from the Mongol Empire, who landed on the outlying island of Hairu and the Southwest section of the island, now known as Haikou. Although the Mongols showed interest in Arahi as another territory to conquer, natural storms kept them from conducting any expeditions during its settlement period; Japan was spared for the same reason.

The start of Arahi as a state began in the late Kamakura period, when a princess of the defeated Hojo clan fled to Arahi with her remaining followers. To the shock of the surrounding states, this princess collaborated with disparate leaders to unite all the settlements under a single authority. The new nation of Arahi differed drastically from its original states, as it was declared a principality ruled by a Kikou that was unorthodoxly matriarchal and recognized the right to rule and divinity based on ability and achievement rather than lineage.

Arahi's Kikou system became the basis of solidifying the new island nation's sovereignty and its control over the surrounding outer islands. The government focused both on logistical infrastructure — establishing ports and roads between communities to support the economy and promote development — and on military development, preparing to respond to any threat. These projects proved useful as the newly established Arahians lived through periods of peace and war. The eras of war in particular became known as the Raptor Wars, which were frequently a simultaneous combination of some or all of the following factors:

• Civil wars within Arahi
• Attempted colonization efforts by European powers—notably from the Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, and British Empires
• Wars with their Japanese and Eurasian neighbors.

The end of the Kikou system began during the early reign of the Tokugawa Shogunate. At this time, Arahi was forced into an unfavorable compromise with the British after suffering a brutal civil war, handing over the eastern half of both the main island and the outer islands to the European power. One of the final blows was a daimyo who took advantage of the unstable situation on Arahi by threatening to invade the western half if they didn't open themselves to Japanese forces. A final civil war emerged between the present Kikou's remaining followers and those who both wanted to avert invasion and curry favor with the Japanese in case they would come under its control. The war expanded when the Kikou fled to the British-controlled section of the main island. The daimyo used this opportunity to invade Arahi and its outer islands as a whole, proclaiming it as another dominion under the Tokugawa Shogunate.

This victory lasted for only a generation, during which the daimyo and his forces plundered the newly conquered lands. Not only did the native Arahian suffer extreme cruelty under the daimyo, but not even the European settlers and those who sought to curry favor from him were spared by the onslaught. The brutality of the daimyo's actions alarmed both the British and the Japanese alike once brought to light. The deployment of a British fleet and a well-timed successful rebellion by the native Arahians sealed the daimyo's fate, where the Shogunate executed him and sacked his lands at home.

Following the actions of the deceased daimyo, members of the Tokugawa Shogunate and British Parliament met in Arahi to reach a compromise. To prevent war, the Japanese and British agreed to make Arahi an independent state as an intermediary between the two powers, which retained a presence during reconstruction. When Arahi's government became self-governing once more, it became a bicameral legislative Assembly with an Executive Council to enforce its laws locally. However, historians later perceived the de facto leadership as the nation's Oligarchy, which governed Arahi through the Upper Assembly before expanding its power behind the scenes.

Arahi's new role as a neutral state transformed the reinvigorated nation into a significant power in the Pacific via industrial, financial, and military power. Its strategic location in the region made it a hub for trade, with its new capital, Arahi City, becoming an international port for naval ships and aircraft, as well as a center for exchanging ideas. Furthermore, its biggest export, among other goods, was its own soldiers who fought in wars across the world. The biggest partners during this era were naturally the British and Japanese, who promoted its development, with Arahi unintentionally returning the favor by influencing several other major events, including the establishment of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance.

The Great War became a turning point for Arahi's interests as the British and Japanese Empires underwent a sharp decline in power; the former lost much of its territory to become the British Commonwealth, while the latter suffered similar losses, leading to its government's overthrow and the establishment of the government of present-day Japan. Even before the Great War ended, Arahian interests shifted away from the collapsing nations and towards the Union of North America, which had undergone a sudden, drastic change with the fall of AMF influence, opening itself to the world. The leadership of Arahi welcomed their new major business partner in hopes of future prosperity.

Unfortunately, these optimistic prospects proved short-lived due to many internal and external issues. Pro-Magic Arahians did not take kindly to the once-former AMF superpower becoming their newest business partner. They feared its eventual attempts to rob the nation of its culture and even its lives. These fears became a reality when the UNA resurged as an AMF superpower and began an aggressive military expansion worldwide. The People's Alliance of Asia (PAA), also known as Indochina to the West, also gained more of a footprint on Arahi in response to the UNA and AMF dominance of the world, which was pulling the island nation on both ends. The political unrest in Arahi further intensified with the government's increasing authoritarianism after the formation of the Ministry of Public Security to maintain their Pro-UNA stance, as well as the corresponding Red Wings movement to resist AMF influence. Reports of corruption became widespread, with not only the government and Oligarchy but even common citizens misusing their power, privileges, and even personal freedoms, resulting in unprecedented levels of moral decay and political violence. Even intervention from Japan is met with hostility as they are accused of helping the Arahian government despite being a Pro-Magic state. In this volatile state of affairs that could trigger worldwide repercussions, anything can happen.
