  • Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com. Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
  • For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
  • Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
  • Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.

I keep having problems with logging in at QQ on my laptop browser.

Specifically, every time I try to enter my username and password, I get redirected to the same login screen I started from, as if nothing had happened.

Weirdly, I was able to log in just fine inside a private window (this is how I managed to post this thread).
Still, it's a terrible inconvenience for my QQ browsing :(

If that helps, the browser is Internet Explorer 11 under Windows 8.1.
Yes, I know it sucks. It worked before - until yesterday.

Any ideas what might be happening?
I know that I accidentally clicked the login button without entering the password, got redirected to a registration window, and clicked "back", just before it happened for the first time. So that might be related.
If so, it's a very unfortunate bug :( any hints for getting out of it?

(I already cleared my browser cache; didn't work. I'd rather not clear my cookies, for various reasons, but I can do that if there's literally no better way.)

You can clear cookies for just QQ. I'm not sure how it can be done on IE, but you can look it up.

This doesn't sound like cookies though. I would have assumed it to be a cache issue.

There are also other internet configurations besides cookies and cache that private browsing undoes which a complete wipe of IE would fix. Again, I do not know for IE, but you should be able to find out online again how to selectively wipe those configurations on QQ.

Just checked, and apparently I didn't have any cookies for QQ. Which is actually weird. But whatever.

I would also have assumed it to be a cache issue. Not sure how to fix it, though...

Maybe you don't save cookies on IE? I recall IE has that nifty security sliders thingy.

No, I had dozens of cookies in there. Just none for QQ specifically.

Could be a HTTPS thing. I'm not sure.
(And I can't recall ever deliberately using any kind of security sliders thingy. Not on this computer, anyway.)

Just wanted to mention that, after several (unrelated) resets of my browser, my QQ login is finally working properly.
(Well, so far, anyway.)

this happens to me sometimes with spacebattles i just leave it for a while and it fixes itself i have no idea why it happens but its rare enough that i can't be bothered to try and fix it.
