I have read a lot of fan fiction. An unholy amount. I also love to write but I can't do that on any certain or knowable way. Thats me. But i like to believe that i have a decent insight in to what other people are doing or some of the thoughts going through it.
I think that the setup of fan fiction sights and other web novel sights stifle writers. Not due to any maliciousness or even a quantifiable way, but the structure causes what I see to be a problem. Authors can not revise their work. They can not change their mind or move themselves away from a corner that they have written themselves into. Its why, I think, most fics that have gotten very big fissile a little. Everyone here are big readers. We all want to read and consume the words that those brave enough to write deliver to us. I think that want of all of us even the writers has stopped the thought of going back in a book to change how it goes, after all if that is done here it is considered a complete rewrite.
I just want so say that if you are an author or anyone who loves your story but hates whats happening, maybe you wrote yourself into a corner ten chapters ago. Maybe you made a long and boring or even exiting omake. Just what you are writing is not set into stone. Characters can eventually have entirely different stories if that is needed the story is your world. If it makes you uninspired please find where and maybe change it, maybe retcon it, or even completely change the situation or original story that lead to it.
thats my idea thats been brewing for a few days now.
