Apologies if I'm supposed to use some other part of the site for these questions, I'm not super used to interacting with staff on sites, and I was not able to find anything under the rules thread on if I should instead be using the "contact us" section, and if there was then I missed it.

I want to ask for permission to post on Satire's fic, Dragon Ball: The Human Limit Breaker, which I just barely found and it says is more than 45 days old. Is this fine, and is this where I ask on permission do I don't get infracted?

Not Staff, but they do talk about the circumstances in which necromancy might be allowed Here, but despide how the rule says something like: "conditionally permitted." It's better to think of it more like: "it is forbidden, unless." That unless basically being if it's not a significant new contribution to the thread, were talking multiple paragraphs here, or information that's highly pertinent to readers, such as the story being continued on another site, you're probably gonna get in trouble for necroposting.

Edit: Oh and to the best of my knowledge, it's not really something that they hand out permission for. It's more of a use your own best judgement thing.

Also not staff, but consider DMing the thread OP before anything else. If they find your issue relevant enough, they may open the thread for it.

Also not staff but I like to say that there was one case I think back on SB where the OP of the thread, (Think it was Hunter's New Home.) Where he liked the question of said necroing post and argued for the penaty to be removed.

I doubt that it could happen again so I would like to say that its best you follow the abovs suggestion to DM first so the OP can reopen the thread or comment there to have it be active again.

I actually am staff, and the general rule is that it should be a "new and significant contribution." What that means in this context, is something new for or about the story in particular. Things like fanart you made for it, an omake of significant length (and preferably quality), mention that the story has been continued elsewhere or that the author is going to post a new chapter soon and either is yourself, or has asked you to tell people in their place. Stuff like that.

OR, it could just be a thread that is not a story or quest thread. If it's a discussion thread, or a topical snippets thread such as the General Self Insert thread or the like, we don't care if you necro those. At all. For the necro rule, we only care about story and quest threads. If you had a story idea you want to talk shop about, or a thought about some plot point, but it's for a fandom where the discussion thread for that fandom hasn't seen any posts in a year and a half? Go ahead and post it there. It's fine. Even if you just want to respond to something someone said there two years ago, it's fine. It's not a story/quest thread, so it's not forbidden.

And any time you are in doubt, you can always, ALWAYS ask a staff member. Send one of us a PM, post a thread here in Announcements and Rules, whatever. Heck, even putting it in Appeals has been done a few times, and while that's not really what the subforum is meant for, it's not something we'll get mad about or fail to answer. Show us what you want to post and where you want to post it, and if we say you're good, you're good.

Okay, thank you. By this poin I've also followed the above advice to PM the OP on this, so I'm also waiting on that, but I'll still ask here, if that's fine?

I'll post the listing way further so it can be ignored if it's not.

Partly from a Chaos Gacha thread, so need to modify those bits out, but otherwise on point.
It's responding to a few currently existing posts + adding a big one detailing a fictional booster relevant to what they're doing in the story:

Description: Steel is strong, but Flesh is stronger. An enlightened unification of body, mind and spirit for supremacy over all 3. Develop the capacity to see 1,000 steps ahead of any enemy, to shrug off any wound that doesn't slay you, and to single-handedly slay armies. Become an ideal self. The possible limits are farther than you initially imagine.

Addon for item description: the Grand Poobah of mail-order self-help books.

I wanted to contribute one of my favorite powers, as I'm told we can just submit suggestions here:
The Hercules Method from the Luther Strode series.

A quick description I found for it comes by way of an "oyedapoman" - It's basically a bible on becoming a Baki character.

More in depth, it's described as a method to unite body, mind and spirit for a Body Supremacy attainment method that was developed by that world's
biblical Cain
, and apparently has personal development/specialization qualities, judging from some of the users + this one fan comment saying that HM users who prefer weapons seem to often be slimmer than those who fight bare-handed, and The Gardener
who seems to have the greatest raw physical strength and being a giant who(looks like hi)'s fist is half the size of the mc's torso and ignoring assault rifle fire, while (from what I understand) starting from a similar baseline human as everyone else.

It's less Demon Slayer/Muzan shapeshifting, more "I can learn crazy nonsense like how to spit my teeth/blood with skull-shattering force, undo nerve/pressure point/poison effects, do the Advance of Kengan with little drawback, will myself into being an unaging semi-immortal (seemingly without food, drink or maybe even air, according to some stuff I found, so that mind over matter/spirit and mind parts might be more literal than just body stuff<could be Self Supremacy rather than Body Supremacy) rapidly go from a 5-somthing scrawny kid to a 7 foot musclebound killing machine that can casually karate chop people in half and has his own form of precognition" and other crazy nonzense with their form.
Yeah, I'm really seeing that Baki comparision. I also vaguely remember someone made a Worm fic with this power,
and they had Taylor kill Oni Lee by calculating the softest part of his skull and dropping a rock onto it to split his head apart.

Here's some links for quick stuff, such as to a few respect threads for users/examples of the things users of the HM can do, which I saw there's more if other people wanna go looking, including one on fanverse that seems to list bullet points on everything that happens in the story, so of course avoid that if you get interested in the story and don't want said spoilers.

Drawback/possible curse?: Sacrament of Cain - part of the process teaches that murder and violence is a fundamental truth of existence
with even the mc early into his development going from the typical "I don't want trouble" with his bullies to near hallucinating the idea of tearing everyone in the school, including his own friend, into pieces with his bare hands the next time said bullies try it. He holds back from it, but it was still there.

And for completeness, here's the mail in order book it comes as!😁

Edit: guess it doesn't wanna post the image despite it appearing in the edit box, but I did say:
Wow. Guess you can't say they're not upfront about what'll happen, eh?
