Governor's Gambit - Star Wars SI into Imperial Governor

Seems like it might be time to buy up as many YV-929s as possible to act as escorts for the Guild.

It also seems like Maul is moving, this stinks of his Crimson Dawn pulling strings to cripple or tangle up a Sector.

....could also start setting up some Droid Frigates to act as escorts, would be tricky as people still remember the Clone Wars but if things get bad enough....

Ideally he needs something thay acts like a Frigate, in the old Age of Sail sense, fast enough to run down pirate freighters and frigates while having enough firepower to cripple them.

It's funny to see, that him not making full use of his political power and keeping things legal and fair is now finally making things harder and more complicated for him.

He knows the profits of the slavers have increased but they don't pay more taxes (that's treason) and he's pretty sure the pirates work for them. Any other Imperial would have send in the troops by now to get rid of them and seize their planets/assets.

Instead he's wasting his time with investigating them and doing everything by the book.
He seems to not fully understand the power he now has as a Moff.

Mom coming to minda. Funny, but isn't he officially outranks her by now? Can he just put a wall of paperwork and squad of death guard in front of her and just be off? Something like:
-sorry mam, we cant let you to see the governor without a prior appointment.
-what?
-please fill a27be7 , s81kf and aajk76 blanks with copies of your passport to proceed further.
-do you know who you are talking with ?! I'm -
*Death squad pointing blasters against her.
-i think you should leave mam.
-... And how do i get an appointment than? *(Maliciously screeching her teeth, or mandibles,)
-please, call the reception for an appointment. The application period for an appointment takes only from three to fifteen years.
*Silent bewliberent

If we are talking something like that and relatively ubiquitous, I would recommend the Consular-class cruiser's Charger c70 retrofit. Consulars were cranked out a lot during the Clone Wars and they were made by CEC which is heavily invested in the MARD.

Shouldn't be too hard to purchase any obsolete models and update them to do some pirate chasing. Even the original models would be able to be converted into the Charged variant pretty easily.

There is having that kind of power, then there is using it. By doing everything by the book and setting up systems he is future proofing his government to be able to handle stuff like this in future.

Just ramming the Imperial Navy into the slave worlds would solve this problem quickly, but Las' way makes the sector more resilient against the next time the Rebels, Imperial warlords, or the syndicates pull this nonsense again.

Junsrhe had followed his family, and taken an Ash-Mark of peace, to eschew violence of any kind, for any reason.

And then he saved a child by killing a beast. And he was exiled, surviving day by day on the outskirts of tribal territory, never plunging into the deep forest of the tribes, but unable to return to the safety of civilization.

How would a such society survive?

Mommy "dearest" is coming

And it's gonna be such an awkward thing to see her stand at attention to her higher authority son. Especially when whatever political and social base she had to stand on, died when Tarkin and a good chunk of his subordinate staff became dust with the Death Star.

Las: "Sooooooo, turns out I was more fit for management than the military"

Mom: *Silently sweating that the 'boy' she threatened and tossed in a backwater, became such a powerful person and in charge of a vital base of industry and commerce* "...I see"

yeah its not that everyone makes the same vow. or that all people make the vow at all. but the more religious priestly classes do make the vows, with different families often having generational ones that all members take. so you still have a military and functioning society, but the priest classes take vows to show their determination and all that.

A sacred promise that acts as a form a self sacrifice that shows discipline and devotion. And is hard enough that it's not merely a look a me action but one that hurts to put away. It's hardly even unique to one religion in some form or fashion.

My bet, Mother is going to show up and Las will be very confused when she's proud of him and happier than ever. Bc it always seemed like she was a parent who theoretically wanted their kid to succeed, but only knew one version of success and so fucked up said kid.

What do you mean Minda has Shipyard!

When Minda announced the placement of 20 shipyards within their system many fellow governors in the local area got their ears talked off. When their patrons asked why scions of many CORE WORLD FAMILIES were being made to look lazy and stupid by a nobody from those wannabes in Eradu.

Fortunately there was a solution Rendili.
A company that had fallen out of favor with the imperial government but that remained a major player based off its legacy designs remaining in widespread use and more importantly in this case, industrial strategy.

This has resulted in a dozen "shipyards" that currently amount to an assembly facility for a single corvette sized ship. Most currently lack any production facilities at all with plans only to begin installing production lines for the simplest items sometime next year.

Guild Assessment: The investment in 10/12 yards by those known or suspected to be a part of the Slaver faction will be significant sources for weapons and pdf grade components that can be 'lost or stolen' to the many pirates currently attacking our shipping. Until we can get repeated evidence of components passing through those yards into criminal hands the Moff won't be able to move against them particularly considering their sponsors in the Core.
