I'd consider that more the default, and generally I don't think 'no X' tags are gonna be featured too prominently, even though I'll note them in the longer list.

Agree, but, at a quick glance, there's a lot of specific cyoa tags, but there's also a bunch of generic stuff I can combine. Gonna deprioritise that for a later batch though.

I can make informal categories of tags, but we don't have the functionality to make a technical distinction. Adding functionality isn't something I can do, but tag categorisation is on the admin list (though I'd think a lesser priority than some other things).

With regard to [Character] tags, that might be a bit beyond me. A lot of characters exist, and they mostly don't have anything in common spelling wise (so I can't search for a big chunk of them, like I can 'male X'). Where they do have similar spelling, they might be two different characters with the same name, so I can't really merge/link full names with first names.

And then you get into [Character]/[Character] tags, and that increases the variations exponentially. So I'm probably just gonna give that a miss.

I would like to offer a counterpoint as an ASOIAF writer. ASOIAF (books) and GOT/HOTD (show) are quite distinct and separate verses with a large number of differences. I would suggest keeping the two separate in light of their differences.

Shockingly, the porn forum has a lot of NSFW variants. Just, so many. My Notes app is straining to hold them all, lagging all over the place.

Got the 'smut', 'porn', '18+' and 'sex' tag collections. Working on lewd, and then it's NSFW, and lemons. Not sure if there are any other ways of saying smut.

Edit: Done lewd. 'Plot' is another one.

I'm almost done with sorting all the tags I've collected into merge/Synonym groups, but I won't be finishing before I sleep. Will have them ready to post tomorrow though. There are also a lot more tags than last batch, and a fair amount I'm unsure of, so I'm probably gonna double the feedback period to 96 hours. Na-night.

Doesn't just leaving the included tag part blank achieve what you want? As long as you dont have any required tags then it should show you untagged stories. At least i think so...

As I merge/Synonymise the most popular tags will likely be linked to even more threads, so excluding will remove more, but it'd still not be searching for untagged threads only.

I don't know whether searching for untagged threads specifically will be something we'll develop tbh.

Idk. I kept them distinct in case there was some yuri vs lesbian type vibe difference, but made them Synonyms because they do look like the same thing at a glance. If people more familiar with reading/writing those kinds of fics say they don't see a difference, I might just merge it into futa.
