Why do some stories get marked as "new" again as if I never read them? I get that some are due to the author editing/updating the thread but there are some story where every chapter of the whole story got marked as "new" again. I doubt JBukharin edited all 900+ chapters in his 2nd Archive overnight...

This happened multiple times now. Is this a bug? a feature? something else? Is there a way to stop it from happening?

Possibly related so I'll post it here instead of start a new thread:
When a thread gets moved into a watched forum, the generated alert states the thread is 'new', which is only technically correct.

Multiple times for the same thread, or once each for multiple threads? If it's the latter, were they moved to a different forum?

Threadmark order shifting can sometimes cause bugs, also if the post got threadmarked after you'd initially read it it'll be labelled new. Also read flags didn't fully carry over across the XF2 update, so if you hadn't read it since it'll possibly be new.
