A notice about Rule 3 regarding sites hosting pirated/unauthorized content has been made. Please see here for details.
Staff is working to deal with the problem of synonymous tags. See here for more information and to suggest tag mergers.
Due to issues with external spam filters, QQ is currently unable to send any mail to Microsoft E-mail addresses. This includes any account at live.com, hotmail.com or msn.com.
Signing up to the forum with one of these addresses will result in your verification E-mail never arriving. For best results, please use a different E-mail provider for your QQ address.
For prospective new members, a word of warning: don't use common names like Dennis, Simon, or Kenny if you decide to create an account. Spammers have used them all before you and gotten those names flagged in the anti-spam databases. Your account registration will be rejected because of it.
Since it has happened MULTIPLE times now, I want to be very clear about this. You do not get to abandon an account and create a new one. You do not get to pass an account to someone else and create a new one. If you do so anyway, you will be banned for creating sockpuppets.
Due to the actions of particularly persistent spammers and trolls, we will be banning disposable email addresses from today onward.
I will note here that "preemptive screening of every reply for Rule 8 issues" is not actually a service we, the staff, provide. There's enough work just handling reports already.
Eventually, you as a user will have to cultivate your own internal sense of where the Rule 8 line is. Basically...
This post does not violate Rule 8 in and of itself. As always, caution should be exercised regarding any more detailed in-thread discussion of contentious topics from the thread on SB.
Yes, we require postings (including story content) to be English, because otherwise we couldn't moderate it.
Archive sites have less of a net moderation concern to begin with, since they have less of a community interaction aspect; and also, a place like AO3 has the resources to actually hire...
Correct: QQ is an English-speaking forum, so while translating your own fic is fine, posting it here in French is not.
The big archive sites that are not also forums are likelier to be friendly to this. I know for a fact AO3 allows it.
Once implied/parent tags are in, we can set them up to cover "hierarchical fandoms" like this, such that the individual franchises all imply the larger universe.
Sadly, I don't have mobile Brave available to test right now, so can't follow up further on that.
Nothing on QQ should be interacting with an adblocker at all -- if you enable scripts, then it's just the standard XF frontend, and if you disable scripts that's all it will block. We don't use any...
I am currently browsing through Brave (desktop) at max blocking levels with scripts blocked. The site is working for me fine, albeit without the JS frontend functionality. Theoretically, QQ shouldn't use or be dependent on any third-party resources at all.
What exactly is your setup, and what...
Thanks for catching this.
As it stands, the word filter is intended to easily catch the majority of inadvertent violations. It's not really practical to prevent deliberate workarounds like this, at least without a lot more work on the backend, so we won't try.
However, I will note that anyone...
If you have new content to add to the thread that's equivalent to a chapter of story, posting it is fine.
Problems might happen if you revive the thread with a trivial post, but a new chapter is okay.
