If you think about it, instead of it being "Danzo and Hiruzen schemed against the Senju" wouldn't it be more likely that after Tobirama died and left only young disciples, the other major clans of Konoha schemed to kill off the "First Family" since the Senju had 'Parent of the Nation' level prestige?
