Do they have to drink certain potions during pregnancy, have sex with random spirits or entities, or is it a whole ritual? And how dangerous is birthing an ogre considering birthing a regular human has been described as passing a watermelon down there by my sisters? lol.

Potions I like and sex with spirits is good as Hags are akin to spirits of Old Magic embodied in flesh. Not dangerous for them because they are The Witches. The archtype of the fairy godmother and advisors to kings, companions of heroes, and guardians of villages.

Changelings a classic for a reason, but you could also do shifter, wanderer, or mimic. Or if you want to be accurate, the Navajo Native American tribes called it Yee Naaldlooshii which roughly translates to English, By means of it, it goes on all fours.

But dancing, singing, drinking, and partying? Kind of sound like those old folklore stories on Gnomes, Dwarves, or a Brownie, where if you don't give it proper tribute in treats or alcohol outside your door they'll find a way into your house to cause mischief when you're not looking.

It has some fun ideas. Only problem is it has a lot of them, and It'll be a little difficult to integrate them smoothly in a way the audience can understand. And Wyldblood can work, but I'll be honest it does feel like a name a Young Adult fantasy/erotica story would use. lol.

Would love a link. And with integration, it's just a lot of information about this setting you have to transmit to the readers in a very short time. If you were doing it from the very start it would be one thing, but since your using your old quest with all its character/plot development as a backdrop my concern is that it won't give you enough time to develop everything.

Basically Hurrik is already this fully fledged character with his own history, relationships, background, beliefs, the whole taco and not only are we transforming him into a new world but you're also fundamentally changing a lot of that background information. That's not going to be easy.

I'm still curious why you made your own setting. I know you said you didn't want to keep writing smut when it wasn't as fun for you as the world building and character stuff, but what was your breaking point for breaking away from ASOIAF entirely?
