Questionable Questing

Right now trying to figure out how Charlie handled each of her "deaths" since basically while a lot of the governments and people in power understand at least a little bit of the mystical background with Charlie, but for the average citizen she can't just be an immortal CEO. She has to carefully plan out a new identity and death every several decades.

Accidents?
Heart attack?

Not sure on the deaths, probably something like a heart attack since that's pretty inconspicuous leading to the whole family rumoring to have weak hearts or being cursed in that way. lol. Then Charlie has a daughter take over at least publicly for a little while. Each life she has a so-called public marriage and public children,

While she's still obviously with everyone else in private, these public records exists so at least some of her kids can publicly inherit and do certain diplomacy/administrative powers using Charlie's name. With the Daughter chosen to inherit using some complicated illusion magic to slowly age herself over the next couple years to look exactly like Charlie, and then Charlie can insert into her new life.

With every single CEO of the company given the nickname Charlie or being forced to take the name as a family tradition acting as the reason she's always able to keep her name. With the kid who was formally the CEO able to retire and pick out the real career she wants.

So the stand in Daugherty isn't actually that old, their disguising

What's disgusting? It's all make up basically. And the kids are basically immortal as demons. With demons instead of aging linearly like people, they age based on their own personal feelings. So if they feel old, they get old. If they feel young, they stay young. It's all mentality.

But think about that for a second, one of the biggest companies on earth that's been around for hundreds of years and in that time it's been an uncontested dominance by one family, generation after generation, of one female heir getting chosen and taking the lead. You aren't seeing gay marriage in the 1800's, but you want to talk a shot in the arm to early feminist movements.

I like it. This elaborate system whoch requires generations of her daughters to play along.

But I haven't gotten the timing exactly down. But what I'm thinking between the fiftieth or hundred year Charlie's been here. Enough time for her to develop into a new person and fall in love with her first doomed romance, maybe have a couple kids. With her and Vaggie having to recall in love once they finally meet up again since time between this dimension and her home dimension aren't congruent.

With her home world only a couple years or months passed since Charlie left. But besides general loves and wishes from everyone, along with a few more personal notes from certain people. the big Vaggie has is a Beacon that Lucifer can use to help build a portal between the two dimensions.
