Nothing that involves surgery should be shared with a URL including "Fairybluebird". Gfycat results in some weird things from time to time.

That is pretty interesting, though. I wonder why they drill the holes, does it make it easier to cut through the bone in a controlled way?

I have no idea, but I imagine it might make it easier to cut through the bone, as well as easier to put it back into place with the metal screws that hold it.

Not sure if bone ever heals/fuses back together, so that might be the only thing keeping that part of the skull from just falling inwards?

EDIT: I'm an idiot, of course bones heal... /facepalm
