For body modifications, I want to keep the spirit of game of thrones, so any magic will be creepy, weird, and not really explained well, but what I'm thinking is it'll either go down the path of supernaturally beautiful and immortality, kinda like with melisandre except real and not an illusion,

or I'll go down the skin changer route and have Cersei become more and more animal like. I really want to keep the magic at least sort of in theme with what we've seen in game of thrones

Something I really like from game of thrones is that when ever people are resurrected from the dead, they lose a bit of themselves. They lose the ability to taste food, or they slowly lose memories, or they become depressed or super unhinged levels of angry. GRR Martian said he wanted his resurrection to not be rebirth or a enhancement, but a degradation of the character.

For me magic will be a system of compromises. Sure you get the ability to have fangs and claws like a tiger, but now you can only eat raw meat. Sure you can have the strength of a bear, but now you get rage that you have trouble controlling. That's how I'm thinking it'll work. The more stronger the magic, the more you have to sacrifices and bargain with to get it.

I'm pissed at Game of Thrones as one review it put like this. Fantasy for those who don't like fantasy. As much as I like the characters, I always found the world to be more Alt history then fantasy with only a few bits of fantasy magic and enchantment popping in.

Hellraiser is one of my favorite horror movies of all time and I'm also pretty tempted to add some stuff inspired by that as well. The idea that the more supernaturally beautiful and sexually dominating Cersei becomes, the more inhuman and controlling she becomes.

But my idea for how magic will work as a twisting force, is that it'll start subtle, like Cersei eyes being described with flecks of gold like a cat or Cersei didn't know why her shoes felt so uncomfortable, and as the readers slowly get introduced to magic and how it works, the changes to Cersei's body get's more and more pronounced.
