Questionable Questing

I find myself in line with CohnCarrnage's latest video where he says Act 1 is 100, Act 2 is 90-95, and Act 3 is 70-80, but that its still one of his (and my) favorite games of all time even in its current form. Excited to see what the definitive edition ends up looking like though.

I've been playing Larian games for a while, and I always play the first week of release, and I always blargh once I'm in Act 3

but I always thought that's less them and more on me being exhausted from playing the game 70 hours straight or something

Act 3 definitely isn't as polished up, but I still loved it tbh.

That said, apparently Act 3 of DOS2 at launch was a THOUSAND times worse than Act 3 of BG3 so... improvement I guess?

I personally didn't play DOS2 until like 2-3 years after it came out, when all of that was patched lol

I'm really curious to see how Starfield turns out tbh. It feels so much less hyped than BG3 was, despite me thinking Starfield would definitely be a bigger game than BG3. We'll have to see whether that's a good or bad thing.

Yeah, I vividly remember DOS2, and how scuffed A3 was in that game, well, I mean, even the big city part was scuffed on release, so I kind of rushed through it at the time because I didn't know if my accidentally bugging out the game and romancing everyone at the same time was allowed or was gonna get patched out

I have zero hype for Starfield, but that's because I don't have any expectations for Bethesda, I mean, would you after 76? To be fair FO4 was mid too, and Skyrim just doesn't measure up anymore

My last time playing Skyrim was fun because I just kept downloading and completing story-based mods until I was bored, but yeah FO4 was pretty mid. I never even touched 76 thankfully, but you're right, it did lower expectations a lot all the same.

It'll be great if Starfield is great, but you're right that I'm not going into it expecting to be particularly amazed.

The modding potential for Starfield does seem to be incredible though. Like the expectation is the whole "thousand planets to explore" thing in the base game will be a crap-shoot with most of those thousand planets being empty or procedurally generated bullshit.

However, that does leave room for modders to make story-mods that can literally cover multiple of those empty planets

The sandbox potential is incredible. We'll just have to see if it lives up to it like Skyrim did.
