I have a job interview tomorrow that I'm pretty excited about. I went to the movies on Friday to see Dumb money which was about the Games Stop short squeeze a couple years ago and it was pretty decent. It toned things down a lot, the whole things was started on 4chan before migrated over to the mainstream so the movie was severely lack in racial slurs and cursing the actual event had, but it was still good.

Do you know what a short sell is? Basically if you think a company isn't doing very well you can short sell it, where you promise to buy stock in a certain amount of time at a certain price. Basically you tell a broker that you'll short sell this much stock in return for its value, then the broker will sell that stock and after a certain amount of time you have to buy it back.

If the price of the stock drops, then buying it back will be less than the value the broker gave you for it. but the issues is that if the cost go up you have to cover it, because you promised to give back to the broker that certain amount of stock in the beginning.

You can money off of it but the risk is that if the price of a stock suddenly explodes then you have to cover it out of you own pocket.

Now these big hedge funds, billions of dollars big were all short selling gamestop because they thought the brick and mortar standard way of selling video games was going out the window in favor of online markets like with Steam and since Microsoft and Sony are putting billions of dollars in their own online cloud based gaming system.

Now I don't think I need to tell you how many companies are struggling with getting cloud gaming to work, nor how many people do actually prefer having a solid disk they can own especially with how many companies are making harder to get a hold of them.
