For Lucy she's not so mad at the killing part and more mad at the broken trust. That for Lucy who wanted to get away from the lying from her former life and walking into an even bigger one. With her, she'll be a fellow dommy mommy and reclaiming the relationship will be about forcing Lucy to accept her own demons and reveal her own darkness to the MC.

As for the kids Gavin who was once a innocent kid, is now a bit of emo with a horrible case of mommy issues as he tries to reconcile the loving parents from his childhood with the cold blooded killer living with him. Dealing with him is about proving the MC is still that loving person underneath the cold exterior.

Lastly, Lily is an innocent ball of fluff everyone loves and wants to protect, which Lily knows and deliberately pretends she doesn't understand everything that's going on because above all else she wants the family to stay together. Her character arc is accepting that she's allowed to be more than everyone's morality pet.

I like Lucy having this negative spirit with the break here being about not confiding in her Lucy instead of the killing

So Lilly is stuck without moral choice because everyone needs her to be the good girl and Gavin is a goth slut in the making who wants his mom to be back to what she was and also for his mom to hang out with him again

I definitely don't want there to be an easy way to fix it. I want the relationship to be messy puzzle to fix for the readers, but not unsalvageable.

I like how each has multiple parts to their problem. Lucy wants to deny her darkness while Gavin both hates what has happened and wants his mommy back but hates his mommy for hurting his mom and Lilly is a ticking time bomb

Maybe, that sounds like pretty good idea's, but I'm still debating what quirks they should have. I know Lucy will have a mental one, but Gavin and Lucy I'm still not sure. What do you think? What quirk would go well with their personality?

Lucy, not sure. Going by their mom Robbinson, you can get weird with the quirks.

I want the two kid's powers to tie into the whole illusion thing, but I'm not sure. The whole darkness thing sort of does.

Ya could make Lilly something bout bliss, wounds don't hurt. This doesn't work forever, but she can lift pain and make people better, while Gavin has shadow beasts waiting to be unleashed or something
