I'm thinking around the wave arc. It's the first time Naruto's outside the village. first time he's killed anyone, and its really the first time Tsuande is really forced to acknowledge that Naruto is a Ninja now. Plus Naruto's short lived romance with Haku, could really screw with him emotionally and cause him to latch onto Tsuande even harder.

The two are going to be bickering and play fighting half the time. Kind of like the relationship they have in canon. The reveal that Naruto thinks of her as his mom will only happen at the emotional climax, figuratively and literately lol, of the first arc.

Along with better chakra control, basic medicine, and a few jujitsu's. All of the basic's Naruto didn't really get down until his several year training trip.

Tsunade will try to teach him the basic's of her strength seal, but Naruto doesn't have the chakra control to take it really far. Instead Naruto takes the concept of storing your chakra by carefully injecting it and instead blasting huge amounts of it out. Which would impossibly expensive for normal people, but thanks to the fox it he has the chakra to blow.

Naruto will slowly learn how to shape and manipulate the chakra and then how to limit it from other parts of his body, until he eventually gets a cloak of pure chakra that acts as a combination shield and weapon. Kind of like Garaa's sand except he has total control over it.
