Well if your in medieval times and your vampires are super human, unless humans have tools to fight back like a weakness to silver or holy water, then vampires are going to be the ones in charge. With a whole age of feudalism based on various vampire bloodlines. And getting knighted means being turned and joining a coven.

Could be an interesting set up. Brave valiant knight kneeling before his king, remembering his background as a peasant or a bastard and how hard he worked to go passed his origins with the king telling a crowd of nobles all of the man's accomplishments and how righteous he is. Varies by Vampire. For some it severely weakens and harms, for others it doesn't. Or inverse, the stronger a Vampire, the more the sun effects them but at the strongest you have vampires who bring darkness and shadow with them so it is a mute point but the mid range are severely crippled by sunlight
