Either I play up his naivety with the excuse his sister were all really successful and powerful sheltering him as the youngest and only boy of the family as an excuse. With his romance with Pyra, being about her slowly learning how to stand up for herself and claim Jaune's Bussy for her own, and Jaune's big character arc be about learning to love being care for by his stronger partner and how to stand up for himself.
Have you heard of the great idea of Cinder X Jaune? Its so terrible but it has this poetry to it with Cinder liking how Jaune makes her feel and trying to hide her inner self from him
Or I could try to make him a hero, with his struggle to rise to the top and be a good leader, contrasted with being shy and awkward and unsure of himself. I think both ideas could work.
I think Emerald and Jaune works better. A street rat getting saved by Prince Charming is a trope for a reason and I think the two's powerlessness in both their situations is more fun to explore.
I like the idea of Jaune on the surface seeming dumb and naive, but having a hidden depth to him or an emotional maturity he's hiding away because he unsure of himself.
Edgy Jaune doesn't work for me. Overly eager golden retriever Jaune, trying to keep his team together despite all the drama and bickering is more my style.
My idea with Pyra is that she's spent her whole life training under her mom and advertising firms to be perfect for the spot light. Soft spoken, super kind, doesn't have any strong opinions. the kind of noncontroversial actor you would see on cereal boxes and commercials for shoes.
But underneath is a blood knight, a spartan, that loves fighting. That wants to be the strongest and be seen by everyone. She's got this pride just bubbling underneath the surface she's been repressing her whole life because her mom and all the important people in her life told her it was bad. She need to think of other people and what they would think of her.
Pyra character arc is about slowly becoming a true warrior and expressing that side of her, with her relationship with Jaune exemplifying that. Going from nervous and stuttering awkward dates, to her taking the lead, to her tying him up and pounding into his fat ass raw. Her gaining the confidence to do what she wants rather than meekly going along with what other people expect from her.
Jaune helps her unlock it. Jaune, want to make him actually try to train hard and use the lessons from his sisters and mom and dad to be the best he can be?
I like the idea of a Pyra slowly getting into femdom and realizing she really likes it, and I think Jaune works best with that version of Pyra. Plus the two having a wholesome hallmark style romance is really cute.
