Lets hear about Dreams of Chaos. And my thinking with orcs and goblins is that their whole domination and submission thing is a combination of culture and genetics. They naturally gravitate towards a strong leader and have ingrained skills and instincts that make them ideal for army life.

Stuff like being able to march for days on end. Able to communicate with shouts and howls which act like a rudimentary code system since most other races can't understand it. They are resitant to weather and disease, and can eat just about anything halfway edible. Another interoperation I like is that they were twisted elves who have been made for war specifically.

Our enchantress son grows up immersed in the art of his city kingdom home. A musician and small charm worker, capable with shaping thr Wuld but not too greatly to become a dominating force like his mother. He likes magic but fears the violence inherent to its greater arts and enjoys a life of beauty and song.

I like the idea that you could have a physically weak but emotionally dark and dominating guy or girl come up to a orc tribe and dominate and mold them through personality.

And the orcs are able to regulate and control the insticts for warfare, by a very strict and complicated system of honor and rules. So that way the same devastation they are capable of, isn't ever used to destroy each other.

Stuff like duels being used to resolve conflicts. With at the end either the arguement is resolved with a drink or someone getting kiled, so that way grudges can't be formed.

Clan's being based off of merit and adoption rather than strict bloodlines, so stuff like older warrior's getting adopted by clan chiefs as their choosen heir is common and that's done to prevent generational conflict between who inherits what. Lots of fun idea you can do to flesh them out.

The adoption system could be interesting. Jackal had our mountain orcs adopt the sons and daughters of the wives of their fallen foes after burying their enemies with honor

But the enchantressess son, what his character arc? Is it his fears over being changed and becoming violent from using too much of the Wylds like his mom? Is it some kind of issue with his adopted father? Is it just him figuring out who exactly he wants to be? What his big internal conflict?

The same power he saw twist his mother and adopted dad, he's going to need to use to save his home. Nice. Could make for a good tragedy or a triumph depending on how you write it.

Pretty decent, went swimming earlier and then had some burgers. Just chilling and preping myself for the interview tomorrow. What did you do today?
