I mentioned Buddism before, but their whole thing is the understand and rejection of desires. basically desire is the ultimate evil because it's what tempts you to do evil to begin with, so learning to control and eventually reject them is the secret to a fulfilled life.

Could make some big ritual where they see their most inter personal wants and desires and if they reject it they pass, if they don't they fail. Could be some interesting world building.

I like that, restrictive and magically enforced contracts being used to craft society in a certain way, a lot of different scary mind magic you could do with that.

They could painfully purge themselves and either not use power or commit to the regulated bound magic. For many they ride the edge of self destruction foe greater arcane transformation into a great demon Lord, or pagan God depending on your perspective

Just got back from Waffle house and there actually pretty decent especially with how cheap they are. Anyway, its the weekend. I have them off. Usually, my boss wanted me to go in yesterday but thankfully I'm still pretty busy unpacking boxes and had that as an excuse. lol.
