I wonder how Ozpin will handle all this? I mean on one hand Salem does genuinely care about Jaune and him being alive is a lever he can use against her to at least regulate some of her behavior but on the other hand Jaune has also really reignited her ambition and has made her much more focused and dangerous. I could totally see Ozpin trying to buddy up with Jaune while contemplating if killing him is the right move.

Salem is trying really hard to be a good mom and also teach Jaune how to be a proper prince since even after all this time Salem consider's herself the true queen of remnant, but also keep in mind its been hundred maybe thousands of years for her since she's really had any long term intimate relationships with anyone so she's a little crazy.

Like for example, she doesn't need to eat and for the longest time she didn't bother doing that but once Jaune got hungry she got obsessed with cooking every meal for him since that's a great way to show him how much she loves him. We'll on the surface it seemed like a normal mom, but again Salem is so desperate for affection and love that she couldn't even stand letting Jaune sleep in a different room or not spending at least most of the day with her. So planting the seeds for the future I guess. lol.

And over time that envy of other girls having Jaune turns into using all her thousands of years of seduction to get him to stay with her.
