I wonder at something here. David and Gloria expects the demons to be vengeful but they learning of Rebecca's brother doing what he did to protect her are sympathetic. And David himself gets the desire to protect family. Its a case of someone who should be hated but isn't quite. Maine though was this great mentor to David and figuring out how that works is going to be interesting

As for Maine, see the obvious route is having David cuck him and femboy him and take his muscle girl. But that is bland. Takes away the girl's agency too. It is not complex writing

Maine's big thing is that as much as he loved David, he was also incredibly jealous and bitter that David was finding a way out and living a normal happy life and he wasn't. And while the demons will respect Rebecca's brother's decision, they will utterly hate Maine since to them betraying family the same as selfishly hording, since you are putting your own needs above your families.

To the demons that's an incurable offense and something that get's you killed by them without any hesitation.

But anyway, I'm getting tired. Going to catch some sleep. Will start figuring out plot structure tomorrow.

Now does David try to rescue Maine is the question? There is a lot of drama and character redemption in this, and a super sexy girlfriend Maine has to be taken by David, but just having David steal her is while beastly, not strong characterizing. She offering herself to the demons to save Maine and give him a place in the demonic cult?

You know what fair enough. How big of a kingdom would he need to be happy? Would he be satisfied if for example he ruled over a decent sized chunk of the north or a great city seen in the same light as one of the free cities? What does he really want?

It was internal issues all along

The internal is more important than the external is any story. And holy crap that roast I made turned out so good. Celery, carrots, and tomato paste cooked down with the meat for a few hours, then blended together with a brown gravy mix packet, makes stupidly good gravy.
