Demon planet sound's fun. I'm also pretty curious at your new quest you're starting up with Hurik.

It's going to be a retread of Blue River with Moat Callin and adventure arcs dealing with different problems and opportunities in the Kingdoms. We haven't gotten to the nitty gritty of it yet

And demon planet superior to or lesser to Invincible?

The problem with Demon planet is that it's a pretty original setting that'll need lots of world build while with invincible I can just slot myself into your average DC universe and get to work. Make writing for it a lot easier.

But at the end of the day a story is only as strong as it's characters and I think both idea's have pretty good ones.

Yeah, sure sounds like fun. Kind of reminds me of one of my favorite Stephen King short stories called the Jaunt.

Reliance on monster Calavery and knights with guns

With the Jaunt the idea was that you had to go to sleep before you went into basically these teleportation devices since if you don't, your brain can't physically handle the concept of not time or space so you'll have a full blown mental breakdown if you try it. Pretty cool story, they had this scene of scientist doing experiments with the device and dogs going insane, that still sticks with me.

But Calvary and Knights. Was these Star gates, for a lack of better word, made by some technologically advanced aliens or past civilizations? or is it purely magical in nature?

Dunno. Never got that far. I don't want the technologically hyper advanced ancient civilization. I'd rather they be a magical thing tied to the planets people constructed and matined with a limited number of how many there can be

I kind of like the idea of them just never being explained and seeing the characters theorize and try to decipher the language and mechanisms that make it work inbetween dealing with the plot.

I'm never one for the ancient mystery that can't be solved. I was thinking a planet can only support so many gates. Making the building and keeping of one a matter of strategic import.

Could have it tied to the life force of the world, maybe that's the reason the people who made it aren't around anymore. Since their magic either pollutes or is dependent on sucking life force out.

I'm thinking the making of planetary gates is a crowning capstone in a world's technologies progress
