Questionable Questing

I was really liking the idea of him having these almost rituals, where he has to do certain things at certain times and they kind of show not only how fake his whole nice guy persona is but also how he has to consciously control himself on a day to day bases. Going as far as cooking an entire meal for his mom's, even though he knows their not home, only to throw away most of it later.

basically as time goes by you seem more and more its a shell or a face he wears and not how he actually feels. He's an alien pretending to be human. Or as wolf like you say.

I like. Nice guy as persona. What is the real Hari? And is it a monster his moms would hunt

Ignore sex and kinks for moment. What is his real personality? Cold and controlling and focused where the mask he likes is warm and relaxed and aimless

I was kind of thinking he doesn't really have one or at least he doesn't allow himself to have one. He's so obsessed with being perfect and being the kind of person that makes his mom's happy, that he doesn't really have much else going on. He was created specifically to be kind of the opposite of those stereotypical harem protagonist.

The boring one notes one's that have all the girls lusting after him. Here he's boring and onenote and has all the girls, but it because he's a weapon specifically designed to do this and he's following his programming and deep down inside is kind of terrified how little agency he has for himself. He resents having to be perfect all the time.

And yet he is kind of afraid of asking these questions because it's comfy to just follow along. He has a routine. He has a family. Yet why isn't he happy?

Okay. Working with this. What if he develops a monster villian persona to protect his moms as they are losing power and the villians are starting to target them? And he doesn't have to be good or perfect. He can be nasty. He can be dark.

He can express himself through not having to care about what others think. Only what he thinks. And his moms start hunting down this mysterious new villian attacking other villians and stalking them. I see what you are going for and like it as a base. Where his perfecte life is shown to be empty for him but good for others. So his real personality would be a mix of his mom's twisted into a power hungry mastermind

Sorry, I popped a pizza in the oven. Going to have some dinner later. And I like the idea of a rogue Magical Boy wandering around and fighting monsters. It ties in pretty well with the other characters. Marin and Hair's other two girlfriends are all going to be magical girls. Not just for the dramatic irony since thanks to the mist none of them will recognize each other except for Hari.

Who knows their identities and shares his with them. But for Marin it ties in with her character arc of always feeling under the shadow of her mom, the same mom who's trying to find Ragyo's old research and Satsuki's identity, and a ravid hater of magical girls since to her that means young girl are being drafted into a war and also tragically that believe is splitting her and her daughter apart.

While the other two girlfriends I'm still working on their characters. The younger one's going to be Nagatoro. And she's a bit of a spitfire and athletic tomboy, who's also pretty insecure about her age and how much of a gap in maturity she feels around Hari. Her becoming a magical girl is ironic since she thinks it'll make them closer since now that she's saving the day in her mind it makes her more mature.

The mom has a point and yes. Hari developing a brutal dark magical boy personality that's fun. Key element there. Its quirky and wild and fun. Twisted and violent, but there's a spark to it that isn't in his normal self. A alt ego that grows on him as time goes on and bleeds into his normal

While the last girlfriend is actually older than Marin. A first year college student in fact named Hana, who makes some extra money tutoring through this special school program that Hari also works at and is how the two met. Her big arc is the exact opposite of the other two. Her family didn't have a lot of money growing up so she was forced to grow up very fast. Forced to be responsible.

Now she wants to be a kid again. She wants to have fun and no responsibilities and becoming a magical girl is a dream to her since it was her dream when she was younger. When ironically becoming a magical girl just gives her more responsibilities than she's ever had. Which I keep using the term ironically since the thing all these girls have in common is they think being a magical girl will fix everything.

And that ties in with Hari, since he thinks the same way too. Being a magical boy will give him an outlet for these repressed feelings in a way that doesn't hurt people, and lets him be the perfect son to his mom. He also gets to help people and even have all his girlfriends be happy together since the mist prevents them from seeing each other.

Hari wanting to look like a heroic magical hero but his costume keeps being sinister and monstrous

Just had some food. But that's the idea, start out heroic and fun but like the rest of the story hint at the dark underbelly underneath.

Now we may talk powers. And Jason or not catching ya interest?

I like jason but I've already got to much on my plate at the moment.
