Now imagine a post apocalypse setting where there's been some great calamity and werewolves start appearing. But people start allowing them to live among the towns and cities because their monstrous ferocity and savage strength are too useful

But back to the werewolves, I'm guessing the virus spreads through saliva or blood and it takes awhile for there to be recognizable symptoms. Gives you some time to play with the different characters and by extension the readers if this person got infected or not. If this growing paranoia is a symptom or caused by the apocalypse and chaos around them. Some fun psychological stuff you could do.

Alright fair enough. I guess my question is then why do the survivors need the monstrous strength of the werewolves if they're rare in number? Which ties in neatly to another question. What are their power levels? If I have a gun, how many times do I need to shoot it to kill it? If I have fire? If I have a bomb? How many normal human soldiers would be needed to reliably take a werewolf down?

Strongest can hulk tanks. And need some other problem for them to deal with like mutant monsters roaming around

Mutated monsters, tell me more. Are the former animals or humans infected with the virus and are too far gone? Or are you going full fantasy and making the virus come from another world and these monsters are leaking through the same portals or holes the virus came through?
