It less that Mark hates the relationship that Superman and Lois have, and more that he hates that they'll judge his. They see the chains and the use of the term master and automatically assume abusive. That as long as their relationship is seen as perfect and the gold standard, then Mark's will never been fully accepted.

Basically Mark's hate is really hiding his guilt and other complicated emotions at how his own relationships are seen. That he can never fully reveal it or be fully comfortable around other people because they will judge him or his girls.

Well each girl is different and wants or needs different things, but the general idea is that for some reason or another every girl inside the harem has a part of them that they either hide, control, or try to ignore, that they know can't be seen or done by a normal person in polite society. And Mark gives them an outlet to be this part of them.
