I mean I'm fine with sticking with Debbie. But, something I have been meaning to work on is how Cecil's version of Cadmus should work and evolve. Maybe touch on his relation with the various heroes.
One of my favorite moments from the comics, and spoilers, but after Cecil dies there's a funeral for him and Mark is the only one who showed up or even cared. Despite the fact Cecil took advantage of and betrayed him, with Mark only remarking how sad it was that someone who saved the world so many times had no one.
Mark liked Cecil and the show does a good job of showing how badly he wants to save the world and be good to Debbie and Mark. In between his manipulations there's a honest nice guy trying to help people
Now the Cecil from the comics was the stereotypical government hard man making hard choices trope, even if well executed, and didn't have the depth that the TV show seems to be going for. But I want to keep that. Even in a world of Lex Luthor's, Batman's, and Omni Man's even they look at his work with disgust sometimes even if it for the greater good.
Right now I'm debating several evil scientists he can get to work for him in building weapons. Mr Freeze, since his almost dead wife makes him easy to control. Captain Cold has a sister too Ceil can threaten. Deadshot and Deathstroke are both easy since they work for money or to have their records expunged, and with Deathstroke it neatly mixes in with the drama with his daughter staying with Nolan.
Deadshot also ironically despite his known temper, doesn't hold grudges like Deathstroke does. If he gets his butt kicked by Batman, he'll shrug his shoulders and move on. If one of the Heroes was raising his kid, while he would protest and at the very least want either phone calls or visits, as long as his kids are happy that's all he cares about. It'll be a nice contrast when the two are forced to work together.
Deadshot is a better person then Deathstroke. I like that. Want to take in some of the Teen Titans show idea of Deathstroke? You be me as a kid and grow up with that version of Deathstroke and find out years later he's a merc and not a mastermind ocultist who knows kung fu
What is also pretty interesting about Deathstroke is that he's old. He was created in the seventies while the Vietnam war was going on in real life and in comics. With his backstory being a failed super soldier program and unlike a lot of other villains or heroes who had military backstories as well, which where all updated to the war on terror in the early 2000's, Deathstroke has stayed a Vietnam vet.
Where does the show version come in? He's nothing like the comics. Not a merc. Cold. With no connection to his daughter or son as the plotline of the comics. He's a really great but extremely different character.
I'm kind of debating how much the show version is a mask he presents to the world, that hides his family and emotions. Or if he's become so obsessed with becoming the emotionless mastermind he's totally forgotten how to handle or even understand how he feels or what he should do about his family.
Cecil has no family according to show and comics. Just Donal and Donal is a basket case of am I a man or even teh Donal who died one thousand and two times already. I love Donal's character in the show.
I like him too, but my dad loved King of the Hill when I was a kid and he looks just like Bobby. So everytime I see him I have to start quoting that's my purse, I don't know you.
