Questionable Questing

For Werelords I'm thinking of things like Voli bear from League of Legends. A giant ice and thunder god bear.

Ice bears huh? Is it just wolves or are we doing were cheetahs, were bears, and all sorts of other wacky creatures with their own abilities and cultures?

Speaking of ice bears, it would be pretty cool if there was this untapped wilderness. Maybe some kind of Darklands or some evil place full of demons. Or primordial forest. Whatever, just the stereotypical fantasy forest everyone avoids. But in that forest is remnants of the gods or magics that bless the original were clans to begin with.

Legend has it if you explore these untamed lands and fight the monsters within claim it's blood, you can commune with these spirits and forces to gain the old powers. Powers the new families and clans have lost over the years.

Were beasts of all kinds. The Forest is the origin of the ruling were nobles divinity.

I'm just debating how extreme the forest effect should be. Should it be more metaphorical with reality itself literally falling apart around you? Stuff like maps not working and repeating the same loop of trees. Shadows and beast twisting and changing into the most primal fears. A tree line that always hangs above you no matter where you go, with the darkness underneath so harsh sunlight can barely reach it.

Or make it a more normal if still very magical place, and have tripes of almost feral people who worship the old gods and use old magic's, only held back by their lack of humanity and intelligence. with ancient ruins of past civilizations scattered around being eaten by the forest, almost as if mocking mankind's efforts and ultimate failure to tame nature.

Sorry about that. lol. I got a little philosophical there.

I say mostly the latter and tiny bit of the former for where you go in super deep

A nice balance. Now we just need an excuse and an antagonist that'll force the MC to travel deep into the woods and discover his roots. Now if it's a trial, he's running from something, or he's searching for power, Or maybe all three?

Running from a warlord who used to serve in his father's army for the irony of it?

And is going to the forest to get power not knowing he already has power in him to awaken

Getting a little late, am getting sleepy. But tomorrow we'll talk who that antagonist is and maybe start doing some world building for this society and how it works.

I like your idea of nobles handing out the bloodline's powers to others so they don't have to go into the dark woods to get that power in the first place

But nope haven't gotten around to it yet, I'm too pissed right now. lol. And for probably pretty stupid reasons, but I don't care I'm going to bitch about them anyway.

I was planning on doing homemade burgers tonight, was pretty excited about it. Bought some sides yesterday and it's one of my favorite dishes to do. Especially since I bought a little more pricey cut of meat. Now it was a little bit leaner cut of beef then I usually do when cooking burgers, so I made sure to keep the heat a little bit lower.

But I like to basically stew my burgers in a layer of onions like they do at White Castle. So the lower heat doesn't matter as much, since it's literally be soaked in the rendered beef fat, onion juice, and butter. Very good. Well I cooked it for a solid fifteen minutes. it smelled amazing and was all brown with bits of crust on the outside. I take one bite it is blood red inside. Like it was raw meat.
