Have the demons take the forms off all the people in the MC's life with a reflection of their personality as well. Lust is the mom, wrath is the enemy Noble, you get the idea. With the mom not acting like mom, but instead how the MC wants his mom to act if that makes sense, with a big reveal being that everyone sees the demons as their own family and friends.

Really hit the readers over the head with the idea of demons being reflections.

When you talk to the various demons, representing various sins, they each take on the form of someone you're close too and use your memories and emotions to manipulate you. So if you ask a demon for power, you don't see some upright goat with a pitchfork, you see your father explaining to you in perfect detail the size of your enemy's army and how you and your family can't win.

How you need more power to save them. How it is your duty to protect them. Explain all the MC's nightmares about what will happen to his mother and sister win, see what I mean? It's not just that the demon's wearing the face of his families, it that it's using the MC's emotions, insecurities, and fears against him as well.

The trick of it is Demons here aren't lying. They are the concerns and fears and passions of the person. That's why their good at convincing them. Because they believe everything said.

Well what I was thinking is that you have extended dream sequences or these inner meditation scenes, at important moments where the MC's about to draw in more of this power or break one of his codes, and during these trances you see some trippy prophetic dreams as well as talk to your subconscious/powers/demons each taking the from of your loved ones.
