Questionable Questing

You think I'm bullshitting? This was in the first ten minutes with zero explanations for anything anyone is talking about.

I did read the andal thoughts, and I really like the idea of the pursuit of perfection or beauty. It ties in with knightly traditions and the idea of becoming something bigger than yourself. Of becoming a legend. How everyone's doesn't just want to be pretty, they want to be the prettiest you can possibly be. They want to push their magic and potions as far and as hard as they can or die trying.

It also neatly ties in with the Southern obsession with material status and need for luxury which neatly contrast with the North's more practical mindset and joy found in simple breeding. Not needing complicated parties, rituals, and girls covered in diamonds to be happy.

Both descend from the Queen's Way. The core principle of Lyanna's belief as it has spread in Westros is sex is good. Not it feels good or should be accepted. Sex is a positive reinforcing element to be pursued for its own sake. Why and how is the divide between the Andals and the First Men.

The North does like its bonefire nude dancing ceremonies but the covered in dimonds is a good one. They like flesh and sound raw

Where as the South will have honor duels over the ownership of silk Lingerie and dresses. Really play up how materialistic and greedy they are about sex.

Well, that's the thing. Religion wise, the North is far more materialistic, but maybe in a different way. Your saying it is in the clothing the Andals focus, while for the First Men and Woman it is about the tattoos and pregnancies and flesh. Always the moaning rutting howling flesh

The movie clip you showed me is both obtuse and yet awesome in parts. There are good ideas here with the civilization tree symbolism and other lines. Yet also, what the fuck is going on

Megapolis has some cool ideas and beautiful cinematography, its Francis Ford Coppola for God's sake, but none of it makes sense so I never got anything out of it. There's just so much symbolism that never get acknowledged or integrated in the story, a lot of the characters don't feel like people but rather spokespersons for their choices sin or virtue.

Sounds like too many ideas cooked together without a story with characters to drive it forward

Exactly. Apparently it's been marinating in the director's head for like forty years since he couldn't find a studio willing to finance it. So that might explain the pretty disjointed narrative.

That would be fun. Got to be equal about it and have boys be prizes as well. Make the power dynamics personal to the person. Give them agency.

Having pretty boy dressed up in dresses being fought over by hordes of women wrestling around in armour and mud certainly is a fun image.

Knightly girls is good but also having girls with skills in singing, humor, politics and history, different ways to achieve social power.

Have public debate, singing completions, or out acting each other for the cute boi? lol.

Now First Men the courting revolves around talents and placement in a home. For example, a favored son goes to seduce and claim his Green Woman mother. She asks of him his sword arm, his ability to hunt and provide food, a trade to give them money.

The sex favors the rough and crude, animalistic and passionately forceful. Tossing maidens and matriatchs onto bed, stalking them in the woods and pushing them up against a tree, but before that is a bartering of value. Bodies and hearts are sold like cattle and wolves, used and claimed and kept. There's romance in this but mixed with more raw greed and social strength
