It's the trouble with Gods based on belief. They don't have a self determining will. They can't stay a stable person

Old Gods are regulated and suppressed. Officially, the Old Gods like Zeus and Ares types they aren't in power. The new Gods tied to social economic forces like the military industrial complex and a God of global order are in charge.

However, the archetypes of the Old Gods persist and their stories are drawn on for creative inspiration. Like in the modern day, people keep revitalizing the primal legends of the Iliad and other things
