Topic of conversation today will be what have you been writing, Supergirl and how she and Mark get along, and Blackfire and Mark's relationship
But with Supergirl, I'm kind of debating how long she's been on earth and what her age should be. I mean on one hand I love the version of Supergirl that grew up on Krypton and is struggling to adjust to earth as well as preserve her culture and identity. As well as the complicated emotions she has about not being the one to raise Clark which was the job she was given from her dying parents.
Lots of really fun character stuff. But this kind of Supergirl wouldn't necessarily have even a decent idea on intergalactic politics, considering how isolationist Krypton is, but she would know right off the bat that Viltrum is bad news considering how bitter the rivalry became between the two. Which is not something I want to tip off to the Justice league just yet.
I'm thinking between 16 to 19, with her being on earth for a couple of years. Enough to fit in and understand stuff, but not long enough to rub away everything. With Kara still occasionally speaking in Kryptonian when she's upset, having trouble understanding certain phrases or customs, that's kind of stuff.
And slabs of ass meat are awesome. lol. As long as it's not to crazy I am entirely okay with the artist saying fuck you to normal human anatomy and going crazy with body shapes.
I'm thinking they're acquaintances in the very beginning. Kara's not going to become a hero right away, she's going to take a couple years to get settled in and figure some stuff out first. Properly grieve her family and everything that's happened, meet Clark and figure out their relationship. But she is a part of the superhero world and she does show up to certain meetings, where her and Mark talked a couple times.
Not super close, considering Kara lives in Smallville which is a couple hours away from Chicago where Nolan and Mark live. And plus Kara's still pretty shy around other people. But they're both super powered teens in a very small community so they've kept in contact.
Right now though I'm trying to figure out if she joins up with the Teen Titans or if she approaches the Birds of Prey. The Birds of Prey being a short lived all female superhero team made up up of Nolan's adopted girls, BlackFire, Ravenger, and Raven as a kind of screw you I'll make my own team with blackjack and hookers after they got turned down from Teen Titans.
Mostly because Starfire was on it at the time and her and BlackFire couldn't stay in the same room without fighting, but the other two were also still seen as problem child's at the time. With Supergirl's reason for joining being a chance to discover who she is without Superman's legacy and family constantly hanging over her shoulder.
I'm debating between Kara reaching out to Nolan, to kind of figure out what happened with Viltrum or if there's any Kryptonian survivors or other colonies that broke off considering she was stuck in stasis for a few hundred years. Or vice versa with Nolan reaching out to her. But regardless that's how her and his girls meet and become friends. They saw a lonely kindred spirit so to speak.
That's kind of what I'm leaning towards too. See how she stands on Viltrum. With her being in shock from everything, not really able to focus on half forgotten history lessons meaning she kind of accepts everything Nolan tells her at face value. With Viltrum falling into a deep despair after Krypton's fall and regretting everything that had happened between them.
